Teclast F7 128 GB SSD version, is M2 SSD slot free or not ?

Hello everybody.

 

I am planning to buy a Teclast F7 laptop, SSD 128 GB version.

Before placing an order, I have a (dummy) question please.

Is the provided 128 GB SSD installed on the motherboard in the laptop or in the M2 SSD slot located behind the small hatch on the back of the device ?

I already own a 256 GB M2 SSD and I’d like to know if I could use it as a memory extension directly in the SSD slot ? Or will I have to remove the provided 128 GB SSD and then perform a clean windows re-installation ?

I read a little bit of everything about this on the internet without finding any precise information.

hi,

the Teclast F7 (with the 128GB SSD version) already has an ssd on M.2 slot (128GB Teclast brand). You will have to remove the provided 128 GB SSD and then substitute with your 256GB model.

Attention: The model to put into, it must be an M.2 2242 (22x42mm) and not a 2280 for space reason, unless is possible to use a M.2 cable extender. (see my thread https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/teclast-f7-install-a-m-2-2280-instead-of-2242/)

My 256 GB SSD is a M.2 2242 that used to fit in a Jumper Ezbook3 pro (which unfortunately broke 2 days ago…).

So this SSD will prfectly fit in the Teclast F7, and I will keep the Teclast 128 GB SSD as a spare.
