I’ve had that happen once with a tablet. Most likely overheating, overcharging or simply old age. The latter wouldn’t seem applicable in your case, but maybe the charger is faulty or did you leave it plugged in a lot?

Yes plugged in almost all the time.

Just a quick update. I found a new battery from these guys: http://laptop-parts-shop.com/

Just make a note of the battery model no and specs before your order and at that to the comments on the order form.

It was easy to fit. Just a bunch of crosshead screws to undo on the rear cover and inside the laptop. Less than 10 min job.
