Backup and Reinstall only Windows
Hi,
I’ve got an C2D6 and don’t need android.
Is it possible to install only windows (I have a win 10 pro licence) with only one 64 GB partition on this tablet?
How to save/backup the original configuration in case of restoring the factory settings?
I have no skills with android devices.
Tanks in advance?

I did this to my C2D6 version. I just dowloaded Win 10 from Microsoft in my native language and made bootble USB, from where I installed Win 10. It activated by itself, so no worries threre. Then I just uptated missing drivers for the camera etc. I used drivers from Teclast. They released them few days back. There are also images for the Windows and android, so you can put everything back the way they were.
All in all, Im a bit disapointed in this tablet. I got a very high pitch noise coming from the GPU. Screen brightness 0% and 25% are quite quiet, but 100% is unbearable. Some sort of driver issue, because when I uninstall graphic drivers the noise is gone, though the tab is very slow.
I also made wifi tweak by solding a new wifi antenna in the case. Though it didnt help much. Only a few dB.
November 29, 2016 at 10:14 pm #57867Hi all,
Anyone knows where can I find an Android ROM for the C2D4 that works fine? The last one I installed has issues on battery control: only detects 4980mah, so I can not charge it furter than 62%….
Thanks!!

Thanks, that is correct, but my question reagarded to use the full partition of 64GB SSD for Windows 10.
I am not sure, if it is best practice to delete all 10 partitions with the help of diskpart (clean) and repartition the system without negative side effects.
I am not familiar with tablets in general but the Telcast tablet seems to be not a normal motherboard, because there is an USB-OTG instead an normal USB and not a real SSD.I am also disappointed with this device, because there is a little disturbing noise (cicade) in standby mode. The touchscreen isn’t soft (I have also an old ipad 3).
The battery is empty after 4 days in standby (flight mode is active). The teclast support didn’t answer my requests. In Windows 10 Mode the onscreen keybord is hiding the input boxes in IE or Edge (Win10 problem, not teclast).
Any ideas?
December 12, 2016 at 11:14 am #58440Hello everyone,
I recently got one of these tablets and out of the box it made these lines and rapid horizontal movements of the screen. I did a full restore with windows on the tablet (not with a USB, but just within the OS itself) which seemed to fix it for a bit, but now it has come back…
Should I do a full fresh install with an external image from a usb? Has anyone encountered this before on their tablets?
Thanks

The question is “how i am gonna flash it???” Can’t find any walkthrough. Can anyone please write a procedure step by step?
My second question is if i can install only android and take advantage of the 64gb storage as i don’t want windows 10. Is this possible and how i can do it??

The instructions for flashing are contained in the files you downloaded.
For only installing Android, replace the gpt file with the one attached to one of my earlier posts. That will give you 56GB for Android.

I just download the original english instructions from teclast’s site.
About the gpt file you told me, you mean the one from this link https://mega.nz/#F!cBJ1EQjR!6OJqolub4UE21ODWz3pmIA
inside C2D6 folder and then inside the X98 Plus II (C2D6)-Android5.1-V2.00.rar in android folder the gpt.bin file? Please confirm as i can’t find any other gpt.bin file.

3 more questions.
1) On the flash tool what option do i have to choose so i can delete the windows and android and install only a clear android without windoes from the start? I choose update, erase all or something else?
2) How can i backup my BIOS or if there’s a link to download them. My model is C2D6.Are the bios only for windows? I ask because i don’t want wndows and if so i’d better not download them.
3) On my android drawer with apps i can’t find the OTA update application. I can see that is installed from settings/applications but how am i supposed to update if there’s an update?
I think i don’t have any other questions… 🙂

- If you use the gpt.bin file from my attachment it will reserve all space for Android and thereby wipe out Windows.
- If you are looking for the best ways to backup your tablet, I would suggest you install a recovery tool like TWRP and also root your tablet. https://forum.xda-developers.com/x98-air/development/x98-plus-ii-twrp-root-t3438061
- The OTA doesn’t work. You can download updates from the Teclast site. http://www.teclast.com/en/firmware
