    Hi,

Great spotting. It does looks good, release date is set for the 10th, the same day as the “official” announcement, but they might just have to announce it now as OKQI have jumped the gun here!

$277 is the marked up sellers price, so I imagine it will be around $210 cost. This is better than I expected. My guess was the X5 Z8300 and 2GB of ram. But 4GB and the mid range Cherry Trail, nice! If this has microUSB 3.0 I’m 110% sold! At any rate, I will order one and try to get it asap for review for you guys.

You know what this means? The next gen of Atom Chinese tablets is coming, no more Bay Trail reviews yay!

@tecknight Sure does, I have a Surface 3 with the X7 Z8700 and it’s quite a nice chip, runs well considering it’s only a tiny 14nm Soc. The Z8500 will be very similar in terms of performance. The bottleneck on my Surface 3 is the eMMC. I just hope it has microUSB 3 so I can use a DisplayLink USB 3 dock 🙂

The best thing about this is all other Chinese manufacturers will now have to release their own Cherry Trail tablets very soon or loose out. Looking forward to a X5 Z8500 Chuwi Vi10 update.

Shame OKQI the seller only offer slow AliExpress shipping 15-25 days. No DHL 🙁 I would order one now if they had DHL or Fedex.

I’ll like to know more information on the design. Is it the same as the X98 Air 3G/ 2. August is going to be a great month for Dual OS tablets. Maybe one day, we will see OS X, Windows and Android TRIPLE boot on a single device. I found 2 mistakes on the page, the cell capacity is only 800mAh and the operating system is listed as Windows 8 but with OS listed as Windows 10. Strange.

They probably started with the X98 Air 3G page and modified it, missing Windows 8 in one place. So I guess they are starting with a Windows 10 only tablet. How long till they will have dual boot, do you think ? They are probably woring on a lollipop for Cherry Trail as we speak.

Re: design. My guess is they are using a barely modified X98 Air 3G motherboard. That would save a fortune in time and $$ vs designing a brand new board.

They could practically just drop the new SoC in where the old one used to be and use higher density RAM–Same form factor.

The X98 Air 3G was Android at first for a few months, then the Air II was Windows and then the dual boot models. So my guess is after a few months of X98 Pro dual boot testing and betas etc they will release a test bios and ROMs on their forums. Just like the X98 Air 3G, later they will release revisions that ship as dual boots etc. D1J1, later the D2J3 etc

We still don’t know all the details, maybe it’s a few mm thinner? Has laminated display (highly doubtful)

Is it 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 10 in this tablet with 4GB RAM? Becuase probably all previous tablets with 2GB RAM have 32-bit Windows 8.1/10 (only CPU is 64-bit but OS is 32-bit and you rather can’t install 64-bit Windows) and some games (like Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare) require 64-bit Windows etc.

What do you think? When tablet with 4GB RAM will be cheaper? Becuase 277.77 USD or 306.65 USD with EN keyboard case (+ VAT/TAX eventually) is rather too much for cheap PC while you could buy Alienware Alpha (also with Windows) for 388.57 USD (https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/3cqphf/amazon_alienware_alpha_pc_gaming_console_core/?sort=confidence). (It is not mobile PC of course.)

Will older tablet with 2GB RAM be cheaper after 4GB RAM tablet release?

    [Sorry for my English.]

Hi, it will be Windows 10 64bit, just like the Surface 3 🙂

cherry trail and core M, hard choice now, onda or back to teclast, my current x98 Air 3G 64GB works fine and even intsalled CAD softwares, it runs! Can do a little simple 3D modeling, so that i do not lug around with laptop. I will still prefer 9.7s for what Chris had commented on 9.7(4:3) and 10.6(16:9/10) format and he’s right. I guess i will just have wait for Chris’s review before plunging for another tablet. Techtablets has been a great site to check on tablets, liked everything, true to his review. All guys love this website should chip in with donations to help Chris

Hi, it will be Windows 10 64bit, just like the Surface 3 :)

Well that pretty much seals  the deal. They must have created a 64 bit EFI BIOS for it. My only remaining concern is the heat sinking. As we know, the  X98 has some issues with inadequate heat sinking and since this pro device likely shares much with the original X98 (case, mobo, display), I wonder if Teclast has  improved the thermal sinking.

hello, I’m new to this forum, thank you for welcoming me …

I will buy my first tablet, I almost bought the X98 Air 3g, and I saw that X98 Pro was announced, so I delayed my purchase; do you think it will ever be available in android version (as a former apple addict, I do not like windows)? if so to what time to you?

do you think the prices of other X98 models will quickly lower?

(sorry, my English is very poor)

I search my first tablet : maybe the next X98 pro or the x98 air 3g
