My I9 Cube began to give problems. The Windows capacitive button was activated alone, vibrating and opening the Windows menu. I tried to solve with FT5926_UpgradeTool, but now the touchscreen does not work and I can not turn it back, because there is no longer among the HID devices! I’m not an expert, maybe the correction has removed the touchscreen from the firmware? or is it a hardware problem? I will be very grateful for any advice.
May 17, 2016 at 4:45 am #37627I have the same issue of my windows menu decides to freak out once and a while but havent tried to figure out why or fix it as I figure I would just have more problems.
May 17, 2016 at 3:33 pm #37700Maybe is an lot of tablet sold by SoCube on Aliexpress with an defect of calibration of touchscreen. For fix the capacitive button please try this: <span style=”color: #f84103;”>https://mega.nz/#!3YpE0Kqb!EbiaQP1fIezEl-auUmqyfJgNRuysaNbrJKL_U_U7UR4</span>, (Hint by Chris!). Can happen that the touch screen is no longer detected by the system in any way. I after a few moments of panic, and several attempts to restore the system, before reinstall Windows, I decided to apply the patch again. Now it seems ok, but sometimes freezes the taskbar. I have installed also bluestacks and I do not know whether to use the android emulator in full-screen windows can accentuate the problem to the touchscreen

June 18, 2016 at 2:20 am #41358Just wanted to provide an active link to the fix that socube is giving anyone with the phantom Windows key “ghost” touching. Thankfully, it wasn’t a hardware issue for me. https://mega.nz/#!gIIGSR5b!YTQXLlFGtr-PLQby9goqu9yv3hm2d-RtEMGL5ojsbU8
The problem is outlined in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldgwMbysjUY
It worked for me, but unfortunately, the dude in the vid had lots of problems.

Hi, thanks for the link. Upon reading the attached word file, I followed the steps, until I had to select the file the update tool needed to progress. The guy said to choose the file ‘FT5926_FW_app.bin’
The problem is that file isn’t there. the only file in the ic firmware folder is named ‘yidao_i9_v0x21_201160127_app.bin’.
Did you choose this file? Any help is appreciated as the win menu keeps popping up, and it’s a pain.
June 27, 2016 at 2:07 am #42051Has anyone got an answer for what I’ve posted above?
A link to the download that includes the actual file?
I’ll wait a little longer in the hope someone can help. But i’m going to get a Microsoft fix that disables the button, hopefully that fixes it, I can live without the button fine. But the menu keep popping up, is doing my head in!
June 28, 2016 at 1:31 am #42136I tried the fix using the only available file. It was okay for a while, but the bloody start menu keeps popping up. I’m getting pretty pissed off with this sadly. Had no luck with the Microsoft fix that turns off the windows button, it was for the keyboard, not the tablet button.
I also tried switching off Human Interface Devices in the device manager. But none I tried seem to be for the windows button.
If anyone could help, i’d really appreciate it.
July 2, 2016 at 7:19 pm #42511Have you resolved the problem? I’m having the same, although the menu pops up almost only when I’m holding the tablet in my hands.
It’s annoying to say the least.

July 7, 2016 at 3:05 pm #42835On my pipo W5 I have some ghost clicking while the device is plugged in with some AC converter rbut not all. From my investigation I have seen that it can be fixed by opening the device and finding where there is a shortcut between the metal body casing and the electrical component, then apply electrical tape at this place to fix the issue.
It’s more complicated for the cube I9 because the metal casing is used for heat dissipation. So you probably got to isolate it electrically while keeping some thermal conductivity between the CPU and the metal body. If I remember well, thermal paste does not convey electricity, but It may have to be checked …

If you read my posts, I ended up using the update tool with the only file that was available, in the downloaded zip file. Briefly after, the phantom touches still persisted. But they have completely gone now. The update tool completely fixed it, hope yours is good.
