TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery for X98 pro

hi neo, are YOU on stock or Mireks?  either way this is what you should do. take the twrp.img, rename it to recovery.img. extract either mirek or the stock rom. copy the recovery.img into the extracted mirek or stock rom, replacing the original recovery.img. then install mireks or the stock rom. it will install the twrp recovery instead of the stock one, ive done it a million times. if you need to zip it back up, always use 7zip, it works perfectly for android roms, winrar does not. ive even used 7zip to create tar balls out of zips to install various pieces (modems, hlos, pits, bootloaders, efs, recoveries, sf, preloaders, systems, cache and dalvik,  and full roms) through odin and heimdal.

this way will work through intel’s phone flasher and mirek’s command prompt script flasher.

Another quick question – do you know which launchers work best with this tablet?  I had the Onda V919 Air Dual and I remember it going bonkers when I installed Apex – thanks!

If you only just got the tablet, don’t mess with it too much, I wouldn’t even bother backup up current android with twrp, install mireks rom first and do it then, as the stock rom not worthrunning…I got a thread for some little mods I did on here as well.

Thanks for that but I’ve done it now – took literally 2 minutes.  If it’s doable, I always get my devices backed up asap as a ‘just in case’ insurance policy 😉

I’m still reading about Mirek’s rom and will flash it as soon as I understand everything.  This tablet is new to me and some of the terminology like Flash Rom.json don’t mean anything to me yet.

I’ve used the MFT loads of times but need to suss out whether the drivers I have installed from my old Onda V919 Air Dual will be okay for flashing Teclast X98 Pro roms or not.  I don’t want any conflicts but then I don’t want to uninstall them if they’re compatible with this tablet either.

I need to read and learn a bit more.

Is TWRP 2.8.7.0 the newest version avalible for Teclast X98 Pro?

Will it be possible fully format the tablet? I want to erase Windows 10 and the chinese rom and then install mireks rom.

Dani Basabe how did u ported the recovery img I ported the 2.8.7.7 of zenfone 2 but the screen is upside down . But your one is fine so I want to know whats the issue I am beginner at porting and all please help me . I think you can easily port the remix os of teclast x98 plus for our device .

Btw I booted the remix os on our device by changing zlimage of of the x98 plus remix os kernel with ours stock one. it booted but screen upside down and wifi not working as missing modules ;). And help me what I am doing wrong in porting recovery why its upside down.

Sorry, but my X98pro died suddenly a month ago. It seems to be an electric problem and I’m looking for parts to replace the motherboard but at the moment I could not found anything.
