Good idea with the new thread.
I also heard that the windows update made a big hit on the drive speed.
February 16, 2016 at 11:29 am #26129I experienced the same slow speed on internal disk (A5C6 Windows-only, Samsung CWBD3R disk).
Unfortunately I cannot say if speed where better before since I updated windows just 2 hours after receiving my tablet.

Same Samsung drive here.
It was not the Nov. OS update that caused this…I tried it before updating last time.
Two screenshots. The first time I ran the benchmark was the best, but still on the low side.
February 16, 2016 at 7:14 pm #26182My Emmc values seems to be OK but SD-Card is very slowly if I compare it Chris review values. My tablet is A5C8 with latest WIN drivers. Hynix Emmc and Samsung 32GB class 10 SD-Card. May it makes sense to create a compatibility list of SD-Cards in combination with X98 plus.
Kingston 16GB class4 works
Samsung 32GB class10 works
Trendscand Premium 300X class10 doesn’t work

By the way, I wouldn’t call those speeds “very low”, just not up to the specifications of the 5.0 eMMC

I have the same drive as Chris has, Toshiba. Here are my results.
So it seems there are 3 different drives in these things now. Toshiba, Samsung, HynixFebruary 17, 2016 at 8:05 am #26240Anonymous

Great speeds MadMax! awesome 4k write there
February 17, 2016 at 9:32 am #26247MadMax, wow, your Toshiba emmc scores are only slightly worse than Chris’ review emmc scores we’ve been using as a reference (attached for easy reference).
Could it be that the Toshiba emmc is simply superior to Samsung/Hynix (at least in the X98 Plus)?
And further, that some sdcards, like my Samsung Evo+ 128GB, just have poor X98 Plus compatibility resulting in (IMO) crippled write speeds?

February 19, 2016 at 10:37 am #26470I sent an email to Teclast aftersales support about the SD Card issue. They replied today. It looks their technicians are working on this issue!

Thanks Nicola, I also emailed Teclast aftersales on February 13th but have not got a reply yet. Good news that I can stop wasting time trying to come up with a solution like many other people, bad news we need to wait for Teclast. Is it OK with you if I post a link of your message from Teclast to another forum where this is being discussed ?
February 19, 2016 at 4:15 pm #26489Hi Neil, for me is ok.
February 19, 2016 at 5:20 pm #26494A5C8 Windows10 – Android 5.1 delivered last week:
For me Samsung 128GB class10 works on both OS.
Let Android 5.1 format it to fat32.
