We, on russian forum, discovered a little spot ~3x3mm size on the screen. It looks like a light spot and can be discovered when the screen is filled with white color. In regular use you hardly to see it. Please confirm it on pack fresh models or models that usedused for a while to investigate the reasons of it.Thank you!
December 15, 2015 at 2:11 am #18627It appears that the huge and heavy X1 Pro (released April 2015) “became” the smaller X2 Pro (released Sept. 2015) …. since I can’t find the X1 Pro offered for sale on any vendor’s site. The X2 Pro as a “shrink” of the X1 Pro mobo, with the same CPU, RAM, and boot drive, leaving the 4G modem M.2 slot empty, and with (i) fewer reported problems and (ii) L and R trackpad buttons on the optional keyboard. A 5 month product cycle! Do you think Teclast reacted to user feedback? It sure appears so.
@Tim. See Rahul’s post of September 28, 2015 at 7:40 pm above. He started spudging at the top near the volume buttons. Typically you use a hair dryer or heat gun near the volume buttons, since antennas are unlikely to be there, and look for how much adhesive may be holding the backplate on. I recommend reading every post in this thread before opening the case. Judging by how clean the edges look in Rahul’s pix, it does not appear that adhesive was used to hold the case halves together. When I mod my X2 Pro, I will use a little heat since it softens the plastic tabs, makes them less brittle.
December 15, 2015 at 2:17 am #18628Same here, I have that light spot too. A little annoying but I can live with it. U can’t expect everything to be perfect for that price. The next thing is the heat from the tablet gets really hot at times. Really hope we can change the casing behind to aluminium.
On a side note. Can someone post on how to open up the tablet? If it’s not too difficult I’m thinking to purchase my 4G card and install it on my own. Camping for replies 😀

Where do I get anti conductive lacquer?
December 15, 2015 at 7:25 pm #18738MSC also makes a 55 ml bottle of electrically insulating liquid varnish that can be air shipped. It’s usually on eBay.
Search “electrically insulating varnish” or “electrically insulating paint”
CAUTION: Artic Silver (and other suppliers) sell thermally conductive adhesive that is not electrically conductive, and electrically conductive adhesive that is not thermally conductive. To adhere a copper plate to the metal backplate of a tablet, you want the former, thermally conductive adhesive that is not electrically conductive. Also, you want to place the modem antennas around the edges of the tablet, not sandwiched between the copper plate and the mobo… the copper plate will shield RF, and you don’t want to impair your antenna function.
@Chris. BBScodes aren’t working. ???December 16, 2015 at 10:37 am #18799Same here.
December 16, 2015 at 2:48 pm #18827Hi everyone, I would like to thank everyone for all their contributions, after reading users responses in this forum I decided to buy the X2 pro. I ordered the tablet , keyboard and stylus from gearbest while the screen protector from banggoods. I ordered from Gearbest on the 8th of december and finally got a despatched email and tracking number today. I paid extra for expedited delivery and insurance everything came to 413 dollars. I intend to do a fresh install of windows once I get a new ssd card. Has anyone used a 512gb ssd and if they have which one would you recommend?
December 16, 2015 at 7:26 pm #18853I don’t think 512 GB M.2 2242 cards are available. The max I’ve seen in 2242 (“short”) size is 256GB. Only a 2242 will fit. I’m sure there will be 512 GB in 2242 size in the future.
If you need LTE, then a modded X2 Pro really stands out vs. the Miix 700 4G (Skylake, probably $1K more expensive, not yet shipping), and Surface Pro 3 4G (Baytrail Atom, and only available used). Surface Pro 4 is not available with 4G. Teclast would be wise to improve thermal dissipation and offer the unit with Skylake M3, M5, and M7 CPUs. Microsoft’s “Shenzen strategy” (cheap licenses of Win 8.1 and Win 10 for 10″ and smaller tablets, which produced the explosion of Chinese tablets) would then really secure Windows’ place in tablets… at the cost of some Surface 4 sales among those who know about Shenzen tablets.

Im very happy to hear that your order was dispatched…. I placed an order with them, paid in full via Paypal on 12/1… still have not heard a peep out of them, opened a paypal dispute on 12/11, still no word. Im sure they’ll allow the paypal 10 day dispute period elapse, and I’ll get my $400 bucks back… Best of wishes in your transaction with them. Let us how how it all works out… hopefully for the best!
December 16, 2015 at 7:42 pm #18859Banggood shipped my X2 Pro three days after order. I’ve given up on Gearbest except for flashlights. Banggood has matched Gearbest’s USD 386 price on the X2 Pro, but Banggood has the units in stock.
December 16, 2015 at 7:45 pm #18860I went with an AliExpress seller who shipped mine the next day… Even sent me photos of the unit with my name on a little paper tag to prove they werent just stock photos of devices they have. Its currently in DHLs hands on its way to me… very excited! I also got the keyboard off AliExpress…
December 16, 2015 at 9:36 pm #18873Alex, I am still a bit worried about my transaction with Gearbest especially after your comments.wont be happy till i get my hands on the tablet itself, Gearbest never responded to any of my queries during my 7 day wait. Probably shouldn’t have used them but could never resist a good deal. When I ordered the screen protector from banggood it got despatched the next day!!To be fair, Gearbest did mention on their website it would take 3 – 5 business days before the item is despatched and they have provided me with a photo of the front of the parcel they sent. Will definitely let you guys know when i receive it. DHL tracking shows that its still in Hong Kong since Tuesday the 15th.

I ordered the SSD.December 17, 2015 at 9:38 am #18945@Robert. Very interesting. That model is brand new. “in the future” turned out to be a matter of days. You can be the first reviewer.
Here’s the data sheet.

560MB/s read and 460MB/s write.
Another 512GB in 2242 form factor should be available soon… for USD 164.
