The X98 Plus II has a dedicated DC charging port and you would expect that this would be a superior design versus charging through the micro USB port.

Unfortunately, I have found that the charging circuitry is poorly implemented and you will experience issues associated with the USB port if you leave devices or hubs plugged in when the tablet is off.

When the tablet is off, you would expect that it would NOT  be supplying 5V through its USB port, but that is not the case.

The tablet continues to supply current through the USB so if you are not continuously charging through the DC jack, the tablet’s battery will eventually discharge completely.

If you are charging and a device is plugged into the USB port, getting the battery charged will take longer as some of the current is diverted out the USB port.

My conclusion is that you should unplug your USB cable at all times when the port is not actually required.

Alternately, use a powered USB hub with an OTG cable that does not have the 5V pin connected.

Hope this helps to explain some of the issues reported in the forum posts.

    So
