Still laggy after updating and hard resetting so i’m not satisfied, I will trying the the latest Dec. 15/2015 image in the next days and I will report if there are performance improvements. Installation instructions (google translate from http://4pda.ru/) : It is necessary to charge the tablet (Firmware takes about 25 minutes, depending on the speed of the stick, and 15-20 minutes – setting pervonachalnyya Winodws) and to prepare a good, fast flash: Format file system FAT32, put a label WinPE, unzip the file (the file is divided into three parts, We must begin with the first remaining Unzipped yourself) and record on a flash drive files from the X98 Plus (A5C6) -Win10_ 系统 安装 文件 _20151120 版 (bootmgr file must be in the root directory of the stick). Boot from a flash drive (Connect to the switched off plate adapter USB-OTG, it is connected to USB-hub to a hub to connect a keyboard and a USB flash drive. Turn the plate and hit delete, until it is logged in the BIOS, the BIOS to find the item BOOT Override and select the USB flash drive ). Installation of automatic batch file will start. When the performance is over and will prompt X: \ Windows \ System32, you can write a shutdown or press and hold and hold the power button until the tablet is turned off. Then the tablet should be included and will begin initial configuration of Windows. Another thing: have anyone has a screen with 3 small blue points or a screen more bright at the top? that’s the main things that makes me a little sad about this x98 plus.

X98 plus run do not smooth (lag) on Windows 10 (I really sad about that). System date I can not change. How to fix all I wrote. Anybody feel the same?

Some people say that after the update it runs Win10 just fine and others say it is very slow.. so… which is it?

I received mine a few days ago. I like the design, the screen (except from a bleeding spot that is visible only when it boots) and the battery life. My only issue is that i can see minor lags here and there. Nothing major but animations sometimes are just not as smooth as they should be. Its definitely software issue but what can we do about it? Wait for a firmware? Try something else? And what about the dual android boot? No news yet?

And do you have the latest firmware? I remember seeing some BIOS update talk.
Did you disable all of the privacy stuff in Win10? Installed clean win10 image?
My Dual Boot X98 Plus preorder finishes on the 16th (for now anyway..) so I can still cancel (and lose about 25$ that I spent on tempered glass, USB hub and case). Would you cancel and get , for example, the Hi12?  Or is it fine, responds well enough, can open several tabs in chrome, play 8GB 1080P movies fine etc..?
It almost impossible to find videos of actual day to day use on this tablet right now.
Bleeding is annoying but I have it on my TV and I got used to it 🙂

It arrived with the latest BIOS. 1.02 if i remember correctly. I disabled few things about privacy but these things dont really affect performance. I didnt install clean image of windows 10, just did a reset through windows settings. Im not sure if a clean install is easy enough with this thing. If i were you i would still get it. Its not big deal and it doesnt happen always. You can just notice sometimes lag in animations which might be because of the gpu drivers. Chrome is not ideal for a tablet but its usable enough. 4 gigs of RAM is more than enough. MS Edge browser is much faster though. If you need something specific let me know. I could upload a video on youtube. To answer your question, no dont cancel your order. Also 12” for a tablet is too much. I tried it with samsung not 12.1 and i sold it immediately.

Great, thanks a lot!  If I do think of something specific I want to see on this tablet, I’ll let you know here. Thanks!

I did a clean installation with the last image and the performance are the same, so it is useless. But a reset is, in my case, recommended! because it fix some strange chinese characters and the tablet is a bit better in general.

Nikola, maybe you could upload a video to youtube that shows the slow performance you are speaking of?  Maybe if you upload it, Peter can comment whether or not it is the same on his device.
Same for you Mei, it would be helpful to see the lag you mentioned.

    So here is my video.

As you can see it has to do with the weak cpu. Initially i thought that it was some kind of gpu drivers issue or something but the high percentage of cpu work without doing anything speaks for itself.

I’m pretty sure that’s running just as or more smooth than my X98 Plus 😛  I’ll upload a similar video tonight of mine.

Great, thank you for the video!
BTW, maybe consider killing (disabling) Cortana, Onedrive and Speech Runtime Executable?  I saw all three up there in the cpu usage in the video. Also Windows Defender is looking Hoggy there..(Anti Malware..) but I’m not sure there anything to do about this one.
So.. I get it.. its OK-ish performer.  Doesn’t seem too bad but I get what tried to tell me before.
Again, thanks for the video and COASTER, waiting for yours !

Hi, I guess mine is pretty much the same as seen on Nikos video, but the thing is once you start working whatever you are working ( browsing, opening pictures, media files, playing games…) the processor percentage drops down quickly so i guess it only takes a lot of percentage to start working (opening task) and than it drops down to normal when just performing task, because it actually runs every task pretty well without any lag – but make sure not to multitask too much ( you can still listen to music and browse the internet or similar stuff )and that it is not downloading upgrades ( Win10,apps) in the background ( this is when lag is most likely to occur ), so for everyday tasks this still is an overall good performer. Dont excpect too much from CPU, but on the other hand i still  could play CODBOII smoothly without any issues at around 25FPS!
