Thanks a lot Chris. Installed clean with Win Pro 8.1. Just replace those two files, restart, and worked like a charm.

Thank you DavidKq. Flashing International firmware did work flawlessly. But then I can’t activate Windows 🙁 (my BIOS key seems to be the one to activate chinese Windows w Bing)
Has anyone succeeded in installing clean Windows 8.1 other than from factory image? (sans the touch problem)

Hi, for the Vi10 owner that get the OS in Chinese, where did you bought tablets from?
I have no problem with my Vi10, everything come in English and i successfully activated the Windows from my country (Indonesia).

    @Adithya Bagus,

Halo mas, do you install Windows 8.1 Pro to replace the Bing version ones? Do you mind to create a tutorial on how to install it?
Regarding touchscreen issues, have you tried to install gyro/compass sensor driver? i read somewhere in this site that it is affecting touchscren sensor.

I bought one from Aliexpress when it’s on sale.

Still no success installing windows 8.1 Pro since the touch problem is there. Installing is pretty straightforward. Just boot from USB and you’re good to go.

Regarding touch in Win 8.1 Pro, someone told me that probably it’s registry related issue, as I have tried install-reinstall driver bazillion of times, over multiple trick and touch still doesn’t work.

Right now I’m running windows with bing (international version) from the image most likely downloaded from Chuwi BBS. Running fine, but I can’t activate it. I suspect that my BIOS key is for activating the Chinese one. Still puzzled, but glad touch work.

May I know your Vi10 Product Serial Number? its located on the metal ribbon.

    Mine have 5050xxxx series

Tried to download from the Chuwi site but there is restriction on the big files , have to subscribe in a chines site but i was not able to. If some one can help download them and upload them to an easier site to grape. Thanks

I see some ROM file in Chuwi BBS. But It seems that some ROM file are associated with particular product serial number (located in lower metal ribbon).
Mine is Vi10Q32G22150502680, and I cant find the particular ROM for my machine since the posted ones are for Vi10Q32G2215040xxxx batch.

    How about you?

I installed it with Win8.1 Pro and got touch screen issue, which render its touch function virtually useless (touch register in wrong places and all). Until this issue fixed, I’d suggest staying with the chinese edition (at least touch works)

I contacted the Aliexpress seller about the Chinese Windows and he/she promised to send me a link to video about how to change display language into English. I am not too sure it will work though, because I spent like a whole day just to figure out how to change the display language and I just couldn’t.

Someone at Stack Overflow talked about installing target language pack and then uninstalling chinese language pack that comes with Chuwi Vi10 in order to force that Windows SL Edition to display the desired language. Some succeeded, but other users got their tablet bricked because of that trick.

I’m gonna sit this for a while I guess. Too much software hassle on otherwise perfect tablet. 🙁

The the touch detection reversed? So if you touch on the top left, it’s registered on the botton right? I’m looking on my Vi10 and I can’t see any touchsetting.gt file in Windows/inf like the goodix touch panel used on the teclasts. I will see if I can dump my reg settings and you can try and restore that.

I’m also downloading the Chuwi Vi10 dual boot and windows image files from the Chuwi BBS, it’s very slow and to top it off my internet is playing up and very slow.

Also, try reinstalling my drivers dump. manually reinstall the gravity/orientation sensor. it’s related to that as touch works with that sensor.

I hope you don’t mind if I’m getting more Specific

    1. Install from bootable USB (Windows 8.1 Pro) created from Rufus on GPT EFI mode
    – I only wipe Windows installation and didn’t touch Android or Windows image part
    – Windows is express configured.

    2. I installed all of the driver dump using Double Driver. My erros are:
    – Windows key doesn’t work. In the sense that it doesn’t perform the intended function. Instead, it detect a touch near the edge of the screen, but it registered in the exact opposite side of the screen (I saw a splash effect on the left edge of the screen)
    – Vertical scroll detection looks okay. I can swipe from lock screen to authetication, as well as from start to app list, no problem.
    – Horizontal scrolling seems doing the opposite effect. If I swipe from left to right in start screen, the tiles would scroll in the opposite direction.
    – If a touch is performed in the mid part of the screen. It registered twice and moved by (looks like an) offset to the left. For example if i touch “enter”, it would register at “a” and “j”

    3. Windows update haven’t kicked in as I installed it offline. There are things that I have tried:
    – updating driver manually, through automatic search, and using the “Have Disk” trick that I saw somewhere in xda-dev.
    – removing driver, and reinstall (I also tried to uninstall-reinstall GPiO, Sensor, and KMFD HID i2C touch driver only. The issue persists)

Hopefully this can be sorted out soon. 🙂
Thank you Chris, for the time and trouble that you have gone through to provide us with more informations.

Stumbling into the same problem here. Win 8.1 Pro. Vertical scrolls were not affected. But touch and horizontal scrolls are messed up. I have tried all of the solution but to no avail. Any lead?
