Has anyone purchased a spare charger?
I understand the amp and voltage requirements (DC12V and 2A) but cant find the right physical plug size.
December 21, 2015 at 12:40 am #19341Hello all,
I foolishly purchased the ME906E without the anntenaes! can someone help me find the antennaes i need (or provide an ebay link for bonus karma!).
also, for those using the modem:
- what software are using to connect? drivers?
- how did you get the sim in? did you cut a whole in the casing or need to take off the casing each time?
cheers!
December 8, 2015 at 11:55 pm #17982Hi – I have the Pipo W3F (Z3735F cpu).
I think there is a significant difference – even though Win10 is optimised for low-power CPUs (like the Z3735F), you can still notice the difference. It also helps that there is 4gb ram instead of 2gb ram.
I’d check out the “Teclast X16 Power” – has the latest “low power” Cherry Trail CPU and 8GB ram – although at the similar pricepoint its at, might be worthwhile to just go the X2 Pro or other Core-m based tablets.

December 3, 2015 at 3:02 am #17383LordNight – yup, M2 SATA 2242 size. I bought this one and its rock solid: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NY4VIPA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
I believe the the license that comes with the device (i bought from BangGood) is usable in fresh installs of windows. For example, when i upgraded the SSD, i used the official windows 10 ISO, copied contents of the ISO to a USB (which was formatted as UEFI bootable) then installed windows from the USB stick. I remember it asking for the base language, so can imagine you would pick italian at that point. Did not need to enter the licence key, as someone else pointed out above, it appears to auto-activate based on your hardware profile.
Cheers
November 29, 2015 at 4:50 am #16988Check the other topic in this forum (http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/x2pro/) – the poster Rahul has kindly already posted a whole bunch of internal photos.
I myself did the upgrade. Its very easy.
The case opens with just clips (i used a guitar pick to pry the edges open), the original SSD is exposed and requires one screw to be removed (under some tape). Insert the new one and its ready to go! Before you do anything, make sure you take a driver backup.
November 27, 2015 at 12:16 am #16803For those who have the stylus (and/or Keyboard) – where did you get it from?
First i tried gearbest, chased them up after a while and they offered refund.
Now im stuck with dealsmachine – they are so sh it with customer support – unlikley that they will have it either!
November 24, 2015 at 9:34 pm #16603Hey guys i have a problem.
Took double driver backup – successful
Installed new 256gb ngff ssd , installed windows 10 – all successful.
Restored double driver backup file – all successful except for Intel thermal management driver – does anyone have this?
Also, the hardware capacitive windows logo button doesn’t work, does anyone have a driver for this?
Will come back with other questions as I come across them.
Thank you all!
November 11, 2015 at 10:53 pm #15611Ok thanks!
Seems like you’ve had yours for a while – whats your experience:
- what do you use it for? does it do it well? what does it do poorly?
- battery life?
- physical build quality – is it tough? has it survived drops/bumps?
- would you buy again?
November 11, 2015 at 10:40 pm #15609Thanks Rahul – last question (for now) – if i mess up the new SSD or format on the existing 64gb SSD, is there anyway to download an ISO for the original teclast x2 pro windows installation?
November 11, 2015 at 9:45 pm #15603Hi Rahul – some questions for you:
- Assuming the banggood ship a legal licence of Windows 10, how do i go about reinstalling windows 10? (is there an iso/install i can download?)
- Is there a way to get / write down the licence key before i format? is this even how it works?
- if i was to purchase an m2 ssd (“2242” size) – would that fit and do i install windows as per above?
- Which m2 4g modem did you get? do you have a link?
- lastly, what are “doubledrivers”?
November 9, 2015 at 9:57 pm #15448Chris – you’re costing me an arm and a leg!
First it was the Pip W3f, now its the x2 pro! Btw for those interested, i got mine from banggood, using their app to buy, which gives you a 10% off first time for using their app. This resulted in the cost going from 406USD to 365.4USD. Again, you need to register and use the mobile app – first purchase using the app only (make sure to select the coupon at checkout). Also got i7 remix tempered glass screen protector from there (base cost of 10USD, far better than sellers on aliexpress).
Some questions:
- Assuming the banggood ship a legal licence of Windows 10, how do i go about reinstalling windows 10? (is there an iso/install i can download?)
- Is there a way to get / write down the licence key before i format? is this even how it works?
- if i was to purchase an m2 ssd (“2242” size) – would that fit and do i install windows as per above?
- m2.4g modem seems to possible – do you know of anyone who has actually tested this ?
- lastly, what are “doubledrivers”?
Cheers and appreciate your continued involvement and passion in tech!
