Thanks for your message.
I am quite a beginner with Android.
BIOS version is 2.17.1249 and I did download image from Teclast site to get Android using PhoneFlashTool_5.3.4.0 but as said before I haven’t found CUSTOM_CONFIG.INI (in Firmware folder) after unzipping the Teclast package named X98 Plus II (C2E3)-Android5.1-V1.04.rar (I tried two different programs with the same result) which I considered as a bad start !
Before that, I have tried to make update on several apps on Google Play as proposed and now my tablet is stuck on Teclast logo when I power it on.
I was able to find the recovery mode to try a factory reset and it is said power button to select the option but that doesn ‘t work for me! I found also pushing again Volume up/down produces following message : Dnx Fastboot message request is received…Please release the button combo.
After that, pushing Power button made tablet to power off and that’s it…Nothing special happens when power on again.
If you are still interested in my BIOS version, it would a pleasure but you will have to explain how to do it.
I spent already many hours for nothing until now. Several months ago, after having buyed this tablet, I contacted Teclast for very poor wi-fi senstivity and OTA not functionning and got no answer despites several reminders.
I know for sure I will not buy anymore Teclast products !
Best regards,
February 12, 2017 at 6:12 pm #62098Hello to all,
I am trying to flash C2E3 TECLAST x98 Plus 2 (Android only : 2GB RAM +32 GB user) using Teclast package . Goal is mainly to try to improve a very poor wi-fi sensitivity and install OTA application which has never worked.
In Teclast X98 Plus Android firmware update tutorial, it is mentionned to Copy CUSTOM_CONFIG.INI (in Firmware folder) but I can’t find it after unzipping the package as I have only a config.img with size= 4281 ko.
Does anyone has encountered this problem and was able to solve it ?
Thanks in advance for your kind support & best regards,
Jean
January 10, 2017 at 5:40 pm #60231Hello to all and happy new year !
I have two questions for my C2E3 device
As posted in my previous Sept 26 2016 ‘s mail, I am the (unlucky) owner of a Teclast x98 Plus II (ID : C2E3/Android only : 2GB RAM +32 GB user).
As time has passed, I have two questions for which you may have now the answers :
- A way to reinstall only OTA application which has never worked ( !)
- I saw a new Android version for this device available but I would like to know before going deeper if this would improve the wi-fi sensitivity which is a pain (I am obliged to use a repeater above 3 meters…). More generally, do you know what improvements are expected from this updated version ?
I made myself a promise : never buy again a Teclast device as support is none. No answer from them despites reminders !!! As a contrary, Chuwi support was very good.
Thanks in advance for your kind support & best regards,
Jean
October 7, 2016 at 9:12 am #54005Hi,
Thanks for your message. Pity it is a bad news !
Unfortunately not yet ! I found a software update V1.04 for the CE3 version (Android only 2Gb RAM & 32 GB user) from teclast: http://www.teclast.com/en/firmware/showtools.php but since there is no mention of the improvements it may occcur, I prefer wait a little bit to be sure this is an improvement as it seems from my own experience Teclast is not really offering the best Customer Support!
What I did to use the tablet is to buy a cheap wi-fi repeater Netgear WN3000RP N300 (18 € in France) to improve the coverage of the tablet. I obtain data rate between 5 & 10 Mbps, less than my mobile phone but it works in the rooms I wanted to use the tablet. Sending back the table to China looked too risky to me & I have preferred negociate a partial refund from the vendor.
I keep my fingers crossed for soon trying the software update..
Good luck & Best Regards,
Jean
September 26, 2016 at 9:20 am #50772Subject : Poor wifi sensitivity (2.4 GHz band only available )
Hello,
I received a week ago Teclast x98 Plus II (ID : C2E3/Android only : 2GB RAM +32 GB user) from GearBest.
Wi-fi doesn’t work properly as sensitivity is quite weak (compared to many other tablets I have used) and data rate (when it works !) is very very low. I can not use this tablet more than 2 to 3 meters away from the router.
I try online update thru Teclast OTA application but result was unknow error.
Then , I visited teclast site with my PC and check theDownload part:
http://www.teclast.com/down.php?s=misc&tid=218
Unfortunately, dispites I choose english language when I enter the Download part, everything is in chineese.
I already sent two time an e-mail to teclast ([email protected]) but nobody answered yet to my mails after 6 days. I had previously a Chuwi Hi8 and from my experience this company was quite good to support their customers compared to TECLAST.
By having a deep looking in some forums, this Wi-fi issue seems to happen very often with Teclast.
Do you know if a patch (and the way to use it) to fix this issue is available or planned since as of today, this tablet without wifi connectivity is useless to me ?
According to GearBest, everything is fine my tablet…
Thanks in advance & best regards,
Jean
