• go to https://www.mi.com/service/bijiben/drivers/A39
• download XiaomiSupportAssistant.zip (top row, zip file name in link)
• start installation of XiaomiSupportAssistant
• the trick: activate hotkey generation before continuing (see screenshot)
• done
