Personally what I did were to simply erase every partitions while the windows installation to only have one big , I didn’t save any partitions because as you say it is useless

But if you want to preserve dual boot and android you can’t erase all partitions. Waht do you think about my post of erasing only windows’s recovery partition? Has anybody already done it ?

    Happy new year !!!

Hi, thanks a lot, great tutoriales

I am waiting my chuwi vi10. I will do a macrium reflect free full backup and after i want to: erase windows recovery papartition (is the last one, number 18), and windows one (number 17) so i will be able to install windows 10 in 20gb free space.

Do you think is correct ? Why do we need to preserve windows recovery partition when we know to install w10 form ISO/USB ? In my opinion we can safe remove that partition. What do you think?

    Happy new year !!!!

you say that windows 10 wil erase and merge the partition number 18 ? the one that haas 6Gb (almost) and is the recovery partition for windows 8.1 ???

    Exactly!

And windows 10 does it automatically ? Or do i have to delete both manually ?

If you need more disk space for Windows while keeping Android, you’ll have to resize Android’s /data partition (it’s the largest of Android partitions, weighing in at 11GB on my 64GB Vi10 Pro). Problem is, nobody ever confirmed it’s safe to do so — I, for one, would be really interested to know — and I did search quite a bit. All the instructions I found concerned getting rid of either Windows or Android. If you intend to keep the Android partitions as they were, then no further manipulations with Windows partitions are necessary — the Windows 10 installer will do its job wonderfully. Your recovery partition will be a mere 450 MB, and the rest of Windows disk space will be in a single large partition.

Hi, you say that windows 10 wil erase and merge the partition number 18 ? the one that haas 6Gb (almost) and is the recovery partition for windows 8.1 ???

Or you mean about delete it and delete “c:\” partition (number 17) and then install windows 10???

Hi, my chuwi vi10 will arrive next year. I have read lost of post and i want to do this in order to maximize windows and preserve dual boot with android.

Please, could anybody check this list? May be there is someone that has already done it?

    1. Make full backup with macrium reflect free (all partitions). There is also a full back here, but just in case.
    2. Check W8.1 activation
    3. Check my hardware/serial version and look for W10 drivers
    4. Update to W10
    5. Check W10 auto activation
    6. Now I can do a clean install of W10.
    7. ERASE windows recovery partition (number 18th, last one) and updated W10 partition (number 17th). Not touch any other partition.
    8. Boot from USB with W10 home ISO and make an installation un unallocated space (old 17th and 18th partitions, around 20Gb)
    9. Install W10 drivers and check W10 auto activation
    10. Make a second macrium reflect backup (just in case)

Do you think that erase windows recovery partition is very dangerous? If we have a macrium reflect backup, and also flash  images from @Chris ….

Any help or opinion or experience will be very usefull for me.

    Regards and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I also want to know that option. I want to increse WINDWOS PARTITION without loosing dual boot option, so i think there are two options:

    1. reduce android partition and increse windows one
    2. erase windows recovery partition (last partition in chuwi vi10) and merge that space (6Gb aprox.) with windows partition which is NEXT to recovery partition

    Does anybody do option 2??

I just installed X98 PRO (K9C3)-Windows10 Part1-4 from Here and it still won’t activate. I just tried to insert the key using slmgr.vbs and it said I am using a non-core Windows. Perhaps I need a Single Language iso, I will try that.

Clean install on an English Single Language Windows 10 doesn’t work too. I also tried to SLMGR my bios OEM key and it said it’s a non-core edition. My next step is to get the original image from Teclast.

Alright, so my X98 Pro is a Win 10 Home Single Language, Simplified Chinese only. That image works. It’s now activated but I am looking for ways to change it to English.

Could you take a screenshot of your system’s properties ? I want to know of Windows versión appears as SL (single languaje) or not. Mine only says “Windows 10 home” Or in command line (cmd) type “systeminfo” and enter. May be some of us have normal versión and others SL versions Hope your answer

Could anybody check what version we have ?
