ehi Mirek190 please tell us if you are gonna support this tablet anymore , otherwise i’ll look for another one, thank you for your work!
I would say, considering he hasn’t answered anyone for months and months…that he is not coming back.
May 6, 2016 at 2:30 pm #36275May 6, 2016 at 1:32 pm #36270Hi folks, I installed the Mirek V6.0 ROM in a clean install over Mireks V3.0 ROM. The installation went fine after exchanging the fastboot.exe with a version from the newest donwloaded drivers. The delivered one always brakes the update process. I also have the issue with black screens with this ROM and the OS Switcher at start-up is not available anymore. Any help on the OS Switcher issue? Can it be recovered? Thanks Daniel
Hold Vol + as you power on the tablet, that bring back the menu I believe..
April 23, 2016 at 7:02 pm #34817This is an ENGLISH forum, I´m tired to say it.
Why does it bother you? I’m English but it doesn’t really bother me if they can’t speak it and just want some help. Obviously most wont be able to help but maybe someone can.
I get it, it annoys me too, like the x16 users on here begging for a ROM, bug to be fair, they could use Google translate? They might actually get some help..
April 18, 2016 at 2:53 pm #34084Format a USB key to FAT32 and put the files from the Windows10PE image (on this forum) on the key, boot with it plugged in and it will install windows for you.
April 18, 2016 at 2:51 pm #34083There is a link for ViperMod for android, that sorts the sound/volume out abit..
April 18, 2016 at 2:17 pm #34076Hello, first thank you to Mirek for his really great job. I just read the 45 pages of the topic without finding the answer to my problem. I just received last week my X98 Pro, flash the V6 without any problem but now the boot screen where we can choose which OS we want to use doesn’t appear anymore. The tablet boot directly to the last OS used. I still can use the switch between an OS to the other but have to reboot again then. Is it normal, Is there a way to have the boot screen again? Thanks a lot. JM
Turn the tablet on with Vol + and Power, I think the brings the menu back…if not its Vol – and Power…
April 12, 2016 at 7:25 pm #33207Init, they really pissing me off…BUY HIM A TABLET AND HE WILL DO IT!! HE HAS SAID IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
April 12, 2016 at 9:25 am #33128I’m sorry, you’re wrong, I’m using gparted live, from a usb drive, connected with a otg adapter. Works perfect, no problems at all, actually works with the other 14 tablets I have also. It is not done within windows, it is independent, and works great, it is a linux distro. I’ve modified my tablets, many, many, many times.
You may be better informed if you went to the manufacturer’s forums. You will discover that there are lots of other tools available, and they all work, I even have tools to load different versions of windows 10, before and after the android installation and a tool that loads both windows and android without user intervention. I have other tools that will load whatever you choose by embedding the operating systems you choose within the various scripts. The world is a very bid place and I think you have a lot more to discover. This is a chinese table and being so, you’ll find way more development on chinese websites. I do like this site very much though, I’m not taking anything away from it. I could put the link that shows how to bootup gparted and modify the partitions to increase or decrease android’s available space and increase or decrease window’s space, if you would like. It is on teclast’s manufacturer’s forums. There is a wealth of information and tools available on that site, but most, if not all the tools are in chinese, so there may be a learning curve there too, the site is in chinese (obviously). But google translate does a fairly good job.
I tell you what, you are the only person I have read about in the last year, that has successfully managed to do it then, this is why it has taken so long, and we were fighting so much on the teclast forum to get the modified gpt.bin..so fairplay to you.
It very much is possible with other tablets, as I have done it myself, but from what I understand, not with the X98Pro.
April 12, 2016 at 9:00 am #33123Mirek, you are totally awesome. Bravo! You have once again, outdone yourself. Your commitment and dedication to constantly providing new and updated firmware is simply amazing. Each time you release another revision, it has most issues fixed and has a ton of improvement packed in as well. You must spend a lot of time testing, flashing, modifying, repeat. If I had any money at all, I would donate to you. Your rom is far superior to the stock rom or any other roms I have encountered. I have yet to run into any issues with the latest rom, and, as usual, they just keep getting better and better with each revision. Thanks again, and if there’s anything I can do to help with testing or whatever, let me know, I’m triple booting right now (with miui), and messing around with remix off a otg usb drive (effectively quad booting). As far as the guy who wants android only, yes, you can do that fairly easily. Install mirek’s rom. Then put bootable gparted on a thumb drive, boot into it. Be sure to have a keyboard and mouse hooked up too. Then wipe out all windows partitions and windows bootloader (efi). Now move the 3 partitions that separate the newly created free space with the android data partition. Be careful, one of them is going to say that it isn’t movable (the persistent partition). You need to change the partition type to “clear” and apply, then move it (and the other 2 that are movable without this step) to the right side of the free space, so that the free space and the data partition are next to each other. Now you can extend the data partition using the free space, and your tablet will now use the entire 64gb for android. You will notice though, that when going into android and looking at the storage, it still says the same amount as before. But you will find that it does indeed, use the entire disk. If you are expanding mirek’s and not the stock rom, you could run mirek’s installer again, and it will say the correct amount of space in storage after that, because mirek’s doesn’t flash the partition table, like the stock rom does. I’ve done it, I’ve flashed so many roms, and put windows back on so many times, a dual, and triple, and quad booted, and wiped everything and started over, many, many times (for fun, lol). If you go 100% android, you can go back to dual boot again, don’t worry, its no big deal. Just run the stock android installation and it will partition everything up for you and leave space for the windows installation too:)
What you describe will not working, modifying any of the partitions from windows or via a partition manager will kill the android installation, the only way to do it is via a clean install using the said gpt.bin file to repartition the tablet..
April 12, 2016 at 8:58 am #33122Here< I would agree with Ferenc couple of posts above. I would be happy to remove Windows and stay with Android only here. Windows started to be more and more boring and Android simply would be OK for main tasks. ..and resources would be saved , too. It was some walkthrough probably somewhere, but it could be have prompt pointing to the process.
Flash the v6 rom using the “1,5_GB_system_56_GB_data_gpt” gpt file…
People really need to start reading the instructions for flashing this rom, everything people keep asking is answered in the thread…
April 10, 2016 at 12:06 pm #32900Mirek Thanks for your work… I want install the version 5.0…but always appear “waiting device”…. do you have a Solution?
Ensure the drivers are installed correctly on your pc..
April 10, 2016 at 11:51 am #32897Thank you for another great update, Mirek! Battery and RAM improvements are massive – unfortunately I already had my first black screen crash, though overall stability also seems to be significantly improved. Could VIPER be the culprit? Have you had any experience with it on the X98 Pro by any chance?
Thanks Today I release v6 that is even more stable and faster . I finally reproduced a problem with black screens and fixed it …
Great news, dirty upgrade from v5 ok? 🙂
April 9, 2016 at 7:44 am #32763No, changing them via windows kills android install, hence the release of the gpt.bin system needs to be partitioned before OS is installed..
April 8, 2016 at 1:31 pm #32674Karl0ss and Mirek. I have installed all the drivers, switched on the tablet on DNX Fastboot, but my computer doesn’t detect the tablet. As every time that the tablet boots up in Android it gets stuck in the Android logo.. won’t the tablet ever boot up in Android again? Do you know any other solution?
If you device is “stuck on android logo” it is not in DNX mode..
You should see the Teclast logo with “DNX mode” written in yellow, the device does not boot to android..
Unplug tablet, power it on with Power + Vol Up + Vol Down, keep holding until you see the DNX mode in yellow, then plug it in to your pc..
