Yes, it is. I did it several times, while trying some xposed tests wich result in bootloop, I made and restored perfectly my backups with TWRP.

Remember you have to use the TWRP special version for the X98 Pro, there is a post here in the X98  Pro subforums wich contains the link for the download. Read it well, as there is a preliminar version and after some post the same guy uploaded a second version.

Still no xposed for x86_64. There are tests, but nothing final, afaik.

Xposed only exist for now for arm, arm64, and x86, but no for x86_64.

Regarding your windows problems we cannot help you, as this thread is for discussing the Android Mirek´s ROM. This Android Rom has nothing to do with Windows.

I, In Android, with v6, had some reboots,  most of them exactly when I plug, or unplug the charger. Hope this info help.

Mine too, I think it´s a little bug. After a fresh install, the first time I entered into the battery stats it show app stats info, but second time and afterwards the info is gone. As said, think it´s a little bug.

I got that sticker too in my X98 Pro from PostNL,  but no customs problem, at least here in Spain, like post #2

I´m doing that too, reinstall a clear Windows version, just to be sure, but I will wait a few days, just in case a new version of Android Rom appears, and then do a repartitioning.

For security I didn´t enter or used any password or anything in Windows. Just mess around.

My tablet arrived yesterday, so I´m telling my first impressions:

After a few tests, I procceded to flash it.

• First, Installed  ADB_drivers from ROM package in my PC
• Second, Installed Intel_ADB_ drivers in my PC, not the ones from package but the new ones from intel (v1.10)
• Tried to put the tablet into Fastboot mode but failed, because last OS used was Windows. Changed to Android, turned tablet off from android and succesfully entered into Fastboot mode (Someone said you can enable Fastboot directly from UEFI)
• Connected the USB and the tablet was perfectly recognized by my PC. No yellow exclamations on device manager.
• Started Mirek´s flash tool and everything was smooth. Perfect flash. It took a long time of course. Used Clean Install with no partitioning.

The ROM is perfect, I had no problems with apps or configuration, except today I had a black screen, after turning off and on the screen with the ON/OFF button, when wake up, the black screen appeared with some colored lines on the top of the screen. Had to reboot.

 

After that, no one other problem with Android. Thanks, Mirek, your work is awesome, compared to the original Teclast ROM, wich is absolutely bloated with chinese apps and very obscure things. That ROM is scary, really.

 

Another thing I want to draw attention to, even if this thread is about the Android side of the tablet, is about an obscure archives and registry changes in the tablet Windows install. They were indentified as Trojans.

I installed in Windows the Malwarebytes scan tool, and after a fast search it found two archives: one called “link.bat” archive and other called “reg.reg”, both located in the System32 folder. The .bat pointed to the deletion of two strange executable (.exe) files located in the desktop, (the files didn´t existed, though, maybe they were deleted before I found them, and I let Malwarebytes delete the .bat, so I don´t remember the name of the executables.)
The .reg file made some unidentifiable changes in the registry.

Apart from that, Malwarebytes found a change made to the start page and default page of Internet Explorer linking to chinese sites.

Malwarebytes is free to scan, if someone want to test this himself. I purchased the tablet in Banggood store, if someone is concerned about this issue.

Yes, you understood right, the drivers are meant for a PC, from which you can flash your tablet. The drivers are for your PC can regognize your tablet and then flash it.

 

If that tablet has only windows, I think that the previous owner deleted all android partitions and took all the space for windows. That mean (I think) that if you flash this android rom you will lose your actual windows install.  But you can reinstall a new copy (new install from start) alongside android rom.

Great job Mirek, really! I´m waiting for my X98Pro to arrive and the thing I´m more excited to is your ROM, all are benefits!  I was happy days ago looking at specs of V4, but V5… oh, god, is great! The 4GB and having the option to resize the space are the best. Thank you!
