But be careful, when doing SPI flash using RPI, because there exist at least one version (which I have) with winbond 25Q64FW, which is only for 1.8V instead 3.3V that uses RPi, so you must use some kind of logical voltage converter, else you will brick a memory.
Thanks for warning @redim;]
I’ll be trying to replace factory Winbond with new one, already flashed with 608 BIOS (bonus service from seller). It cost me like $5. Another $5 for my friend who has LVL100 in soldering. I will post if it helps in like 4-5 days.
January 4, 2016 at 2:02 am #21157I received info from seller, that Chuwi is preparing some software+video tutorial on how to unbrick Hi10 from this unusable state. We have to wait like 5-7 days.
I assume, that as for now the only working solution is to reflash BIOS using some SPI programmer and it is rather hard to do.
January 2, 2016 at 5:34 pm #20979Mine Hi10 (first VC Lemon x32 batch) is not booting anymore and your SPI flashing seems like rescue. I’m new to this so can you write or PM some short tutorial how to flash Winbond using rPi? Can it be done using other PC or do i have to own SPI programmer?
Thanks.
December 25, 2015 at 1:21 am #19867Yeah, exact same problem. I tried almost everything. Maybe you think something up.
December 23, 2015 at 9:17 am #19636Wrong BIOS settings are the problem. I think that GPU and USB controller are not booting properly. Without them I can’t enter BIOS and reset settings. There should be some clear CMOS circuit.
December 23, 2015 at 8:46 am #19632I bought microHDMI cable, but still no success – no signal on the output.
Anyone having helpful ideas?
I wrote a mail to Chuwi, but i doubt they will help me.
December 22, 2015 at 9:16 am #19555Oh, I’m sorry, should mention this before – I cut it to unplug battery, used some extra wire and didn’t soldered it yet. I’ll secure this splice, when I finally solve my problem. Normally this wire is perfectly fine.
I was really surprised how tidy and clean the device was assembled. There were some 4 or 5 pieces of black electrical tape securing connectors for screen, speakers and antenna.
Thank you for explaining mystery around the tea ;]

December 21, 2015 at 9:48 pm #19508Thanks for help, but it doesn’t work.
I’ve cut battery off and also didn’t work ;/
I’ll buy microHDMI tomorrow and we will see if anything shows on output.
If not, this is one of the fastest brick I’ve ever had – almost 2 hours ;P
December 21, 2015 at 9:18 pm #19504Doesn’t work but it can still be some other setting i changed ;P
Can you tell me combination for blind “default bios settings” + save&quit? ;]
