David, interesting you were able to repartition it. Did you do a trial and error or is there any instructions anywhere?

Probably of no help now but to anyone else who does a Windows restore. Mine also froze at 55%. I thought it was shagged and was about to switch off, but I had to go out so left it running and when I came back about 2 hours later it was at 99% and then completed. So my advice is if it seems to hang, wait and then wait some more before thinking it has failed.

Any update on an answer to this. I’d really like to get rid of the standard Teclast Android package. It would be great if a Mirek Rom worked.

Well the restore of Windows did a big fat nothing. Still getting the error…….

    “OEM1 ACPI table parse error”

If I knew where the OS Select page was being pulled from I might stand a chance but there is nothing in the Bios and the OEM1 error just won’t clear with the usual fixes I’ve tried.

Thanks. Where is the Biosupdater.exe file? I’ll give it a try if what I’m doing doesn’t work. I read on a Chinese forum that doing a Windows restore would bring the menu back so I went into the settings and have got it doing a complete reset to factory on Windows. Darn thing stuck at 55% for 2 hours but has now got to 97% so looks like it is working.

Yep, will do. I’ll keep searching for a week or so and if no solution I may just make it one partition and have it all Windows.

Man, this really is a pain. Blocked at every attempt.

Used the X98 Plus Bios updater as shown on Chris’ video. Moved it and the latest Bios Bin file to C: ran as Admin and it keeps just saying I have latest Bios. Doesn’t seem to have any file manager / bin file selector which would allow a manual flash.

Rooted through the Teclast downloads and found the Teclast OsSwithch Android to Windows and Windows to Android files but of course it turns out the Windows to Android one has the Spursint.A trojan in it. Arrrgh…..

(Hey, Chris, if you read this might be worthwhile deleting that file. It is the one in the X98 Air 3G location. I found another one which was OK). Erm, but it didn’t work anyway.

    The mission continues

Don’t know the exact steps on the x98 Plus as I can’t boot into Android but it is 5.11 so it should be a simple go to settings and reset

Thanks. Yea tried that. Still the same thing.

One of the things with the dual boot is there doesn’t seem to be an easy return tablet to factory defaults. You can do it with Windows and Android individually but there doesn’t seem to be a “completely hose the thing and start fresh”. Read that power and VOL- would give a reset menu but it doesn’t.

Really? The split it evenly? That’s a shame.. Needabottle, if you find out how to resize the partitions , let us know.

I think we are screwed. There are an unbelievable 14 partitions on this thing. 32GB Windows, 20GB Android, a 2.5GB, a 2GB and a bunch of other small ones. Not going to be an easy task to do and realistically we would only be looking at a max of 40GB for windows if we want to leave Android with 16GB. I’m guessing the 2.5GB and 2GB are restore partitions.

Hmmm, well, I have a spare 64GB SD card lying about so not a total barn burner but maybe the straight Windows box may have been a better way to go.

Windows and Android both seem to be running pretty smooth and fast. I guess they split the 64GB evenly as Windows shows 18GB free out of 64. Probably would have been better with a 48:16 split in favour of Windows, but I’ll have a look to see if it is possible to resize the partitions.

Play store works except for search. It crashes it, but scrolling through apps and installing them works fine.

I had a free 16GB SD card in the box

Mine arrived today. Wow that was quick. Quite impressed by the build quality. Heavier than I expected. Buttons being on the left is a pain because the case I have opens left to right rather than right to left like my iPad. Got to get some other kind of case. Performance is ok but it is updating like crazy at the minute so I’ve just left it. Only has balanced option in power management so can’t do a performance setting to remove animations etc. Need to check into this. Sound volume is excellent. Screen is bright and sharp even on half setting. I have a powered OTG cable which allows charging and use of 2 USB ports, well it did on the Onda, I’ll check it with this later. More to come when I check Android but overall its a Double Thumbs up at the minute

Ordered one from Aliexpress (OKQI) on 25th and it seems it has been shipped already. Paid the $15 for the DHL shipping but no tracking yet. Apparently once it hits Hong Kong it will show DHL tracking. Already bought a cover and glass screen protector when I ordered one from Banggood but cancelled order because shipping slipped to 29th Dec. Looking forward to playing with this. Had an original Onda 9.7″ Windows tablet. Only 2GB RAM and 32GB drive but wasn’t bad. This should be far better although a bit concerned if Android is hosed on it.
