Hi there,
I got my dispute settled with AE/Seller. A partial refund at 68 usd which as Anthony S.C. suggested I can use either now for a replacement display or at the moment the screen will become worse and/or at the time the display gets cheaper to cover repair costs as well. I’m satisfied and will now start using the A5C8 and remove the plastic label and packaging as I could have done some weeks ago.
February 23, 2016 at 7:10 pm #26830Thanks both of you for your replies. I had a second broken line as well on the first day, located more in center of the screen. That one was gone on the second day and did not show up again. Unfortunately I didn’t use PayPal but thanks for the tip: I will use it next time. Indeed with only one faulty line it’s useable, but at the moment seller only offered a $25 contribution for reparation/diagnosis which imo is not an acceptable compensation. If I have to replace the display (myself) I cannot even buy it for $25. So the 55 you mentioned makes it more bearable taken into account the return shipping costs that would be lost otherwise . I’ll wait for the sellers reaction / OKQI
February 21, 2016 at 10:37 pm #26636Does anybody had to deal with a ‘dead line of pixels’ before? Is it a bad display issue or a bad connection problem ? Local repair (Netherlands) refuses to even give it a look, saying they are not interested in such chineses tablets at all. Seller says: it might be the graphic card loose during the delivery so that the ribbon cable inside the tablet was not connected well which need to make a marriage or the screen is not fine. Returning it to AE will put me on (additional) costs anyway without having a tablet at all. What is wisdom in this case ? See attachments for this malfunction.
