    I received my iwork5x 6 months ago and have used it only lightly as a travel laptop. Yesterday, the “L” has stopped working, no response at all with repeated pressing. I remapped “L” to another key but I really want a laptop not a tablet. I’m not expecting service from Cube or Aliexpress but I would like information about purchasing a compatible keyboard/touch pad module. Ideally, I could upgrade to a more reliable keyboard with a touch pad compatible with linux.  I’ve sent a question to “the seller” through Aliexpress
    Looking under the battery I can see what looks like the back of the touch pad. It’s labeled, “Hantick” (manufacturer?) with part number HTX10570Tl V1.0 . There’s a paper label with what I guess is Cube’s part number, 816-3R80-001.  Google gives zero results for Hantick or the part number.

    Any suggestions?

    I purchased a Cube Iwork 5X last September and I am still satisfied and have no major issues.  The few minor issues could probably be fixed with firmware/driver updates so I occasionally look on the web to see if anything is happening. It seems the Iwork 5x has dropped off the map.  It’s not listed on the Alldocube website nor is it “in stock” at Gerabest of Aliexpress.  I ask Cube if any of their stylus ‘s are usable on the Iwork 5x (mostly to gauge their support).  The answer is “no”.

    I suppose if there are never any updates, I still think it is a fair deal at the price with featured I wanted .. can’t complain.  I’m curious however about why the product life was so short.

    I ordered the the Kingspec SSD Oct 1 ($74.74) and got it today.

    Using Crystaldiskmark, the iwork5x 64 GB drive has;

    106 MB/sec read and 19 MB/sec write.

    The new 256GB SSD is:

    561MB/sec read and 499MB/sec write.

    I still haven’t got the trackpad working consistently under Ubuntu (Manjaro works after reloading ic2_hid)

    How well does this drive work?  I was considering exactly the same Kingspec SSD for my newly purchased iWork5x.  For example, have you tried comparing read/write speeds of the Kingspec SSD with the installed 64 G drive?

    I’ve only had my Cube iWork 5x two days. The BIOS version date is 5/13/2017. Windows 10 seems to run flawlessly or at least with only the minor issues already mentioned elsewhere. Eventually I want to run dual boot windows 10/Ubuntu once I add a M.2 SATA drive.
    I spent most of today trying to get Ubuntu to boot from a USB drive. I immediately noticed that the BIOS boot menu doesn’t recognize any drive except a USB3.0 flash drive. The others are seen in Windows as well as the BIOS USB settings.
    Ubuntu just hangs with only a cursor on the screen with Ubuntu loaded on the USB3.0 flashed with rufus, as already mentioned in this thread.
    I found an iso with a built-in rEFInd boot manager at http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/ ,
    linuxium-v4.13-rc6-210817-artful-desktop-amd64,
    which does boot OK. However, the keypad buttons don’t work. The touch screen initially works but dies after a few uses.
    The same website has a script for building ISO’s but I haven’t tried it. rEFInd is new to me so I’m a little wary.
