If it was that simple I wouldn’t be asking for help!

I’ve tried holding ESC and I’ve tried spamming ESC.

    It doesn’t work.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

It actually uses a micro SD card. I’m using a 64 GB class 10 card and I’ve had no trouble at all with it.

Thanks for letting me know – I didn’t realise this.

But checking the drivers available for download for the E5A6, I see it’s about 250 MB altogether. Seeing that Double Driver extracted 593 MB of drivers from my tablet – and they all look like system drivers –  I’m not inspired by confidence!

3 or 4 months later – Happy New Year – and it don’t look like anyone’s bothered about the crap sound quality on these tablets.

I was getting the same thing – sounded like I was watching a pirated movie made with a video cam in the cinema, with every grunt and squeak as the guy shifted or moved the vid-cam. in fact it was almost the same as my desktop system with an amplifier and phono plug connectors when they’ve got dirty and are cutting in and out and spitting and crackling.

I ran some analytics and discovered that the tablet has no sound hardware! It uses some kind of digital chip instead, with other things on it too. That also means there’s no media software and no way to adjust the finer points like the balance between L and R or the overall sound quality.

Using BTooth headphones is a chore. Initially the volume is so high it’s distorted and deafening. But I found the way to use it so there’s just about nothing crackling creaking or spitting in the background.

First set the system tray sound volume (the computer sound volume) down to almost zero. Then pair your headphones. Play a movie with the movie player set at about 50%, then adjust your headphone volume down so that it’s a bit too quiet. Then increase your headphones one notch at a time until the volume is right.

The background sound I *think* is due to the very high and therefore distorting volume of the tablet when in BTooth and paired with headphones. Make this as low as you can than then experiment with the headphones volume and the movie player volume. I’ve done this and get no annoying crackles and pops anymore.

    Good luck!

Hey Jake – how did you get on? What happened with the replacement?
