Carlos – what was the process you used to modify the boot.img? Something like this: http://whiteboard.ping.se/Android/Rooting? I am trying to root another tab (TBook 10) that doesn’t have root so might give this a try.
Thanks!

no idea
August 12, 2016 at 7:38 pm #46575I installed new version because I was still on initial pre-release but process wasn’t very convenient. Android got wiped when flashing ROM and again when re-rooting. Google thinks I have multiple AOSP on Intel devices now. I’m wondering if it would have been better to just flash the new system.img with fastboot or convert to flashable zip for TWRP?
I obviously had to reinstall apps. I’m not sure what’s changed but all seems to be working and Antutu score still around 58500.
Edit: they added Amazon as a system app (maybe a sponsor?)
Edit2: I see TWRP has option of direct flashing of img files, haven’t tested but may try on future update

August 15, 2016 at 10:04 pm #46951I’ve uploaded on mega the new B2016071401 build from Chuwi. I’ve replaced stock recovery with twrp and modified the new boot.img again to be able to root.
For those in previous builds of Remix OS, you can open the flash-no-erase-all.json file (modified to keep the bootloader unlocked) on Intel Platform Tool and select ‘update’. After that boot to recovery, flash supersu.zip and reboot. No loss of data.

This is great, thank Carlos! It makes the whole process much easier 🙂

This is Remix 2.0, I’m not sure if or when Chuwi will compile the drivers for 3.0 but it still has some good improvements over stock Android.
You need the Intel Phone Flash tool. You can find download link and tutorial on the Chuwi forum:

I found it’s not necessary to go into dnx boot mode unless Android is not booting, otherwise just boot Android with USB debugging enabled and when you start flashing from the tool it will automatically reboot to the correct mode.
August 17, 2016 at 2:24 pm #47106Thanks for the mod firmware. I cannot flash via Update method, but I can flash with Recover tho. Do I have to do something to use flash as Update?
August 17, 2016 at 5:23 pm #47116I’ve got hi12 first model (no android and no dnx boot… perhaps standard procedure seems useless).
There is a way to combine standard pc REMIX OS installation with this one??
Thanks a lot for your support

are you using the one Carlos posted to Mega? Maybe if it’s your first time to flash and boot loader locked it needs to use recover. In this case Android gets wiped and it will spend a longer time on green robot with gear spinning and antenna wiggling after first reboot.
August 17, 2016 at 9:18 pm #47140hello guys, pleas is there any way to change the touchscreen config file on remix like on windows or do we have to wait for the source code to be given like on the android rom thanks, because it is as bad as on android for me…
