July 27, 2016 at 11:02 am #44687I would also like to point out Remix OS has now been released with a Marshmallow base which is huge if it can be made to work on our tablets

The method was no big mystery.. just modified boot.img and system.img files and flashed them using Intel Flash Tool
I will upload the modified files here when I get back home
July 28, 2016 at 8:53 am #44814Thanks Carlos
I played about doing that as well and ended up with the having a blank screen but ADB working, props to you for getting it working and thanks for sharing
July 29, 2016 at 6:48 am #44932Thanks to those who shared the links, I’m running Remix now and very impressed. Much nicer than the stock Android. I was pleasantly surprised that not only did I not lose Windows with the flash_no_erase Jason but I also keep my android data and apps. Only thing I lost was root. Can confirm like the others, sound, WiFi, and touch all good.
July 29, 2016 at 10:10 am #44942guide for root would be great
July 29, 2016 at 8:27 pm #45054July 29, 2016 at 11:56 pm #45059Does this Remix OS put android touch responsiveness on par with Windows? That’s my biggest complaint about stock Android
July 30, 2016 at 1:46 am #45066Occaisionally still have to hit something twice but most of the time it’s fine, even with my temperred glass protector.

I installed official Version from Chuwi but it removed my windows partition. I would be okay with it if Android would allocate whole space… any way to do it? And anybody got idea how to port Display/Wlan/Audio drivers to Remix OS 3.0?

And any idea how to root it?

I also tried to root my Remix using the Tethered TWRP method but after I flashed the SuperSU update zip and rebooted it got stuck on the black screen with Chuwi logo. I had to go into DNX mode to reconnect to Intel Phone Flash tool and flash Remix again. I still used the flash-no-erase-all.jason but this time I selected “recovery” option instead of update so have a fresh install of Remix and will need to re-install apps. Windows was untouched.
July 31, 2016 at 1:15 am #45151I’m trying to extract system.img using RMXtools v1.7, but I get an error “Can’t open as archive.” Trying manually with 7zip I get the same results. Is anyone else running into this issue? The same file flashed onto my tablet just fine, so I can’t imagine it’s corrupted.
