It’s written 25Q64FWSIG 1536 on the chip. It is the same one, am i right ?
Yes, it’s the same chip so you will need the same tools but you will have to check the Hi10 forums for the correct BIOS file.
June 10, 2016 at 8:53 am #40415Ok thank you, i bought the tools from china so i have to wait a few weeks. I keep you in touch !
June 13, 2016 at 6:34 am #40746Same here,
HI10 bricked after BIOS update from Windows manager.
Waiting for the tools. Will report back.
Thank you very much for sharing the procedure to reprogram the BIOS IC.
June 16, 2016 at 1:26 pm #41172Hello,
Could you share the Driver to install in .zip package, I’m trying to download the .rar file shared by Chris but everytime it got blocked and removed via the antivirus and not able to disable it as it’s not allowed by corporate policy.
Another question please, could you clarify on how to attach the converter to the programmer, what do you mean of insert pin 1 closest to ZIF latch as i see in picture it’s already far from the latch?
I will receive the tools today. so may i got your answer especially for the driver package in zip format to install it on win 7. as i read it will not work on win 10 that’s why i’m using my corporate laptop win7.
June 16, 2016 at 7:03 pm #41225attached driver. There may be a later driver for CH341 that works with Win 10, if somebody knows please post.
Yes, just follow the picture, pin 1 is away from the latch but facing it (closer than the other pins)

I downloaded the old driver on win10 machine and copied the folder to win7.
Now programmer is connected, however when try to detect the ship it say detect fail. tried to reattach the clip and same!
i ignored that and click on empty and the percentage in bottom left running, after that tried blank but it said data is not null!
i opened the firmware .bin and doing write now and it’s 12% so fat and it’s very slow!! hope it will work …..June 16, 2016 at 11:16 pm #41246Unfortunately it will not work like that, it must detect the chip and verify blank. Are you sure you are using version 1.29 of CH341 software posted by Richard on page 3 of this thread?
June 16, 2016 at 11:17 pm #41247So it’s fake writing now, is it safe to stop it?
yes i’m using v1.29 posted here. so what could be wrong here?
June 16, 2016 at 11:38 pm #41248Yeah, it’s not really connected to the chip only to the programmer. Did you select Winbond 25Q64FW ?
I can only think it’s not making a good contact on one of the clip pins.
June 16, 2016 at 11:56 pm #41249Yes choose it right.
all are well connected. not sure what issue is. i think i may cancel the writing now and start from scratch!June 17, 2016 at 12:34 am #41250My spare chips I ordered arrived today so I now tested in Win 10 with CH341 ver 1.29 and correct driver and working but I notice it’s quite easy to mis-align clip pins, in which case it will not detect.

In window 10 the driver says it’s preinstalled successfully but programmer not connected..Update: in win10 i let windows online update search for driver and it got it with same name in win7 in device manager! and now it’s connected but same thing, it can’t detect the chip! i really have no idea what’s going on..
is the windows online driver is okay? or must install the one we downloaded from here? which at end it is fake install in windows 10 as it shows unknown device in device manager? and initially driver failed in win7 but it’s got the driver from windows online update also!
June 17, 2016 at 1:21 am #41258Try opening ver 1.29 in Win 10 with nothing connected. There will be a message about driver just click OK.
Then try just plugging in the programmer by itself. It should say device connected. If all ok unplug and attach 1.8v adapter and try again and finally try with clip attached to see where the problem is.
Be aware that the image of the W25Q64FW on the software is incorrect orientation.
