    Same problem here.

    BIOS: 5.12, 11/06/2017

    SSD: Transcend (2242)

After first power up with SSD it appeared in Disk Management but I could not format it.

Now it does not appear in DiskManagement anymore but it is listed in Device Manager under disk drives.

I bought a Kingspec SSD 128 GB from Aliexpress for £22, arrived in 2 weeks.
I unsuccessfully tried every trick to transfer the Windows to the new SSD as the BIOS it is locked and you can not make it see the new storage, but the Windows sees it. So, I tried to virtually remove(within Windows installation process) the emmc and let the cloned SSD work still BIOS doesn’t recognize it.

Finally, I reinstalled Windows on SSD leaving the eMMC unallocated and now it works and it is amazing.

I have doubts about reactivating the old eMMC as the BIOS might root again to use it instead of the SSD.

    Cheers!

if you wipe the boot partition from the emmc you can use it as normal storage (diskmgmt) it will not be see as a boot drive
