It’s definitely not filter keys, that setting is disabled (enabling it didn’t change anything either fwiw). Keylogger is extremely unlikely as it happens with a freshly formatted system and also doesn’t happen with external keyboards.

This is 100% an issue with the device. Either software or hardware, but it seems to happen with many and possibly all devices from a recent batch. Aside from the people here, I know of at least one other person who received their device today and has that issue.

to those saying they also have issues in the bios: how did you notice that? Is there any way to just type text somewhere?

I got mine yesterday with Sandisk emmc, haven’t done anything with it yet such as change to hs400 or clean install windows.I don’t seem to see the problem with the keyboard, all be it I’m not the fastest at typing anyway. Unless I’m missing something that’s not totally obvious.

Try just hitting as many keys as possible on the keyboard.. for me, it only registers a few key strokes when I do that. Or try holding down a key and see how long it takes to repeat it. Then plug in an external keyboard and look at how differently it handles.

I was looking for the HID drivers that comes with the device, the ones installed on the new V4 pro batch (I recived it today) looks really old (around 2006). Could this be an issue? Have you guys found any workaround?

I sincerely hope it turns out to be a driver issue of some sort. Aside from the keyboard glitches I am very pleased with the laptop.

I have a feeling if the issue occurs in BIOS than it’s hardware rather than software – I could be wrong. Is there a way to use the V4’s BIOs on these machines to see if it makes a difference. Sorry im abit of a NOOB when it comes to things like updating BIOS etc.

I’ll gladly give it a try.

‘Morning mates. Got my V4, after more than 1 month of waiting, and it has the sand disk drive and the same identical keyboard issue. I don’t feel so bad at typing but anyhow I lose some digits. I also noticed that if you try to record more than 1 key (Ctrl+Shift+arrow key to select text word by word) it doesen’t work. About repeating the key the situation got a little better setting to Min the delay of repeating and Max the speed of repeating. Let me know if you have any solutions

Hold down the arrow key and see how long it takes to switch between options/tabs. The first switch should be instant, and then the next ones should follow in regular intervals (but the delay between the first and second switch is huge because of the defect).

I also noticed that if you try to record more than 1 key (Ctrl+Shift+arrow key to select text word by word) it doesen’t work.

My V3 also has this issue though, so that is a separate problem from the keyboard lag/skips.

IMHO it is a problem of sh*tty drivers ’cause how can it be that a keyboard may work so bad??

I also noticed that it’s difficult to up or down the brightness, very slow and laggy. Anyway this the only problem of this pc i found

Yeah, can confirm I’ve got the delay in the bios as well, so it’s definitely not windows-related.

I’ve sent gearbest 2 videos showing the differences between the internal and an external keyboard. Curious to see what they’ll say.

Hi, just received mine today. It seems like maybe loses some touches but it’s bearable.

The thing that bothers me its having to press for three seconds or so for long pressing.

    Any ideas?

See this, at least you can fix the repeating issue. For the rest we are realizing that the keyboard is not so good as the other things of this notebook. Better disk drive but worst keyboard.
