Hello guys, I was looking for a budget programming laptop for CS studies and found this one, which is good and lightweight, but it has that problem where if you install Linux with isorespin and rEFInd the touchpad dies and you gotta unplug the battery and plug it back in, and then it stops working again. Do you think this issue will be fixed eventually or will be here forever? Cause if it gets eventually fixed then I’m buying this (188€), if not I’m getting something else I guess. Any thoughts or opinions?

I think it will get fixed, someone in the Linux community will find a way. I’m lucky it doesn’t affect me as I stick to Windows 95% of the time and there the touchpad works great with the Windows precision drivers.

It’s not because of rEFInd, I’ve had same behaviour with GRUB

Mine was not working then after installing a working version of Linux and the Refind boot manager (yes, Grub currently has problems with Apoll-Lake systems) and going back and resetting BIOS defaults it started working again on both Windows and Linux (Antergos Gnome 17.11) see my other post here.   The system is pretty slick with Antergos.

It was found this touchpad problem can happen on any Linux distro and kernel version. There is a potentially fixed (patched) Kernel for testing … https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/how-to-install-antergos-linux-on-the-ezbook-3-pro-v4/#post-74817
