    Laura, I agree with you on the CSM as an oldschool BIOS.

    But I see “UEFI” as a standard interface that loads an OS from a GPT formated drive where 64x is mandatory and 32x (and MBR partition) is optional. If that understanding is correct “all it would take” is to deactivate the 32x module/flag/variable and (in theory) the UEFI should load the x64 Windows from a GPT formated drive presented to the UEFI.

    Mikaboshi, I assume your 64x Windows was on a GPT formated drive?

    Anyone order one from Geekbuyer. I order on the 28th and I haven’t got any confirmation that they are going to ship it and my account said zero activity as if I hadn’t ordered anything at all.
    I sent them a query yesterday but so far no response 🙁

    z8350 will be available in march so no, i don’t think new batches will come with that.

    anyway, 2 months to release a 64 bit bios and rom seems a little bit too much… considering the fact that the bios almost surely had UEFI 64 bit capabilities in the first place which has only been stripped off/disabled, and a 64 bit Win10 rom takes about what, a couple hours to make?

    the 2 months span sounds much more like a new hardware revision

    Well, Aliexpress seller vc Mall and ChuWi Customer service say it has 4GB 64-Bit Windows 10 Home. I just hope so.

    And I hope that if it is actually 32-bit, that the update speculated by others for 64-bit UEFI will be downloadable and not just sold on newer tablets.

    I ordered on Aliexpres by seller VC Mall too. They wrote message when they send it. They will have 5.-.6. december 4000 pieces of tablet in stock and than they will test it. I hope, there will not be problems with 32/64bit Windows 10 or with overheating

    The same problem have people that ordered HI8 Pro so it could be that all devices with new Cherry CPU are affected.

     

    By the way VC changed the delivery time to 10DEC…

    my friend, actually the factory have 3000pcs in stock, but when we testing we find not good in screen, so the factory returned change high quality screen delayed the time, hope your understanding, we only wish send to you the best quality product, we will try our best to send out your package asap, hope understanding-susan

    Seems Chuwi has improved the build both inside and out quite a bit, glad to see proper headset support aswell. Currently I’ve suspended my tablet purchase, as I do want something that can power at least a portable hdd from its port. :-/

    I’ll probably wait for the spring refreshers with the z8x50 chips.

    I finally got a response from Geekbuyer and they told me that they are out of stock. I might go for a different tablet.
    These seem more trouble then they are worth. What do you think?

     I also bought this tablet to VC seller in Aliexpress, as some of you. When I read this thread I wrote a Chat with the seller.

    I got this response:
    + I’m reading various forums where are saying that the chuwi hi10 comes with problems, is that true?

    – yes friend
    – but all the problem will be solved
    – that is why we delay the shipping day
    + what are these problems exactly?
    – its first batch have such problem
    – so the factory is solving them
    + when will you send the tablet then?
    + are serious problems?
    + I have spent more than 200 USD, should I worry about the tablet comes with problems?
    – about Dec,7 -12 can get it and send it fried
    – please don’t worry
    + but, what are these problems exactly?
    + I heard that are: windows 32bit instead of 64bit (32bit uefi problem), drivers problems, overheating…
    – yes, it was 3GB RAM and 32bit
    – but what we sent will be 4GB and 64bit
    + there are another problems solved?
    – yes
    – they delay so many time just want to solve the problem

    It seems that these problems are solved at factory, but responses are vague.
    I hope that they have finally solved all the problems and all of us can enjoy our tablets at Christmas.

    Today I have canceled the order.

    The problem is that sellers don’t have exactly information about which problem were found or they don’t want to talk about it.

    Interesting. I was told via email this morning from geek buyer that they didn’t have any idea when they would get product from their supplier.

    This is what they said.

    The item you ordered is currently out of stock . Though we have urged our supplier many times, they don’t promise us an accurate delivery date.
    But please don’t worry, once we get it , we will ship your parcel as soon as possible.

    I also heard from some sellers that the new batch is indeed 64bit OS 4GB ram usable. It seems it was only the first batch that had the issue. Which is why sometimes it’s better to wait it out for the second batch with all the fixes etc.
