    Hi,

On Android, I used during some weeks and after issue with Play store and filemanager (crash just after start, many Andoird reset but always the same behavior) so I would like flash Android and I’ve all tools but not the ‘How to’. I’ve already worked on Android and I would like have confirmation that I can used the same flash process?

If someone has some explanations/confirmation for that it can be nice before test ^^

nb: no issue on win8.1 and it’s why I don’t want flash all… if possible

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend 😉

    Reflashing Android Instructions.

So if your windows OS is fine but you are having trouble with Android then here’s how to reflash the Android side.

    1. Download Intel® Phone Flash Tool Lite ( https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/intel-phone-flash-tool-lite )- Click install Standard. This tool loads everything you will need.

2 Download the Android ROM  http://techtablets.com/chuwi-hi8/downloads/

3.Unzip the ROM to your desktop or a folder you can easily find and access.

    4. Open Intel® Phone Flash Tool Lite

    5. Click Browse (top Right of the tool) and find the folder with your ROM you previously downloaded and click on it, Find the flash.xml file and select it (dont worry its probably the only file you can see so its easy) – Now minimize this window as you will need it in a minute.

    6. Now make sure your device is on the booting into Android OS and not the Windows OS and go to developer option and select Android Debugging mode then Power the device OFF.

    7. Connect your device to your computer and boot into DnX mode – (Hold Volume up and Power)

    8. Maximize the Intel® Phone Flash Tool Lite and you now should see your device listed in the top of the window.

    9. Click “Flash” and it will run the program, once finished, close the program and unplug the Device.

    10. Assuming you followed these steps you should be good to go.

    Cheers

    Hi Mikey,

Tks a lot for your explanation but I’ve the same issue that the previous guys 🙁

    In attachement the traces.

As you can see I’ve ‘unknown command’ on the first fastboot command (fastboot.exe oem start_partitioning).

If you have the necessary CLI it’s fine for me.

    Thanks in advance

Apparently there are (new?) Windows 10 drivers on Chuwi forum (first link on top):

    http://bbs.chuwi.com/forum.php

Can someone with Baidu account download the ZIP and share it?

Big Problem: i messed up the Partitions. I Thought i can delete the android partitions and make one partition for my windows. but it did net start anymore. so now i would like to reset ALL (even the single partitions to the level it was delivered) because in the moment im not able to install windows or android. i would be glad if any of this would run.

The intel Phone flash tool is not able to recognise the tablet.

Maybe anyone can help me here?!

Did anyone flashed it succesfully with Intel Flash Tool|? I have the same problem as decribed. The flash fail during “start_partitioning” command. Does anyone know how to solve it?

There are several threads on this. Use MFT, not intel flash tool. Check my recent post on how to flash with MFT.

    Hello

I know this topic is a little bit old but I’ve recently messed with my Chuwi Hi8 and there’s no way to turn it on.

Two days ago it was working perfectly. I decided to install Xposed and Gravity box and started messing with the system files. I renamed a file called app_process into app_process.xposed-bak.

Right in the middle of the process I decided to stop because my brother told me Xposed was useless and could create a bootloop. I uninstalled Xposed (I think I don’t remerber) and tried to rename the app_process.xposed-bak into its original name but I didn’t work. Eventually I forgot and when I switched off the tablet I couldn’t enter Android anymore, it was stuck in a bootloop.

I followed many tutorials on Internet on how to fix it and after 6 or 7 hours of searching and trying, I decided to flash my Chuwi Hi8 with… a Vi8 firmware.
Now it’s stuck on a weak Intel logo.

I don’t know what to do, I keep downloading files but honestly I have no idea of what they mean.

I hope someone here can help me.

Hi, I am looking for instructions to just only re install the Android software. I used the Intel flash tool but it crashes after 5%. Is there something I have to do with the factory Android rom or use a earlier version of Windows as I’m using win10
