To anyone who’s successfully flashed the new BIOS, are your sdcard speeds any better than what was found in this thread?

Update: I got a new bios to flush from Teclast dated February 23rd. Supposed to fix the sd card issue. Tried to flush it but got some “update failed” error (no details). I’ll update if anything else new.. link to download the fix (that didnt work for me) , maybe somebody else will manage to get it working.

Same for me. ‘Upgrade Error’ with your file. Not successful at all. They did not send me anything yet. =(

Thanks a lot for this BIOS update info and link! It fixed my X98 Plus A5C8. I placed both files: LocalBIOSUpdateTool-64bit32bit.exe Rom_8MB_Tablet_A5C8.bin on C: drive root folder, ran the LocalBIOSUpdateTool-64bit32bit.exe and then selected the Rom_8MB_Tablet_A5C8.bin, the update tool successfully updated the BIOS, rebooted the tablet, and now my 128 GB micro SD card detected properly on both Android and Windows 10.

Amazing, glad it helped!  I’ll try that when Ill return home.  Just to be sure, you are on an A5C8 , right?

Also, are you on the latest Windows update?

Yes, A5C8. Android using custom rooted ROM from supercowz, and Windows 10 updated to the latest 1511 version.

I haven’t tested using CrystalDiskMark, and I don’t have high speed mSD, only 128 GB Black-Red SanDisk. Comparing the write speed between my desktop USB 3.0 Transcend card reader and Teclast X98 mSD card slot, the writing speed is about the same, which is 14 MB/s.

I am also on latest Windows update, took the files, copied to C:\ and ran the update – everything went well and my SDXC 128GB Samsung works fine!

Worked for me too.  Sandisk 128GB SDXC extreme works great.

(Configuration: Teclast dual A5C8, new ROM SPZjulien, disable automatic updates SU 2.46 binary, new BIOS on windows factory setting and updated to the latest 1511 version).

    Tests Crystal:

eMMC is Hynix HCG8e (Usage: operating system)

    HYNIX eMMC

card is SDXC Sandisk Micro SDXC Ultra UHS-I (128GB, usage: eBooks, maps for TomTom and OziExplorer + external BT GPS))

    Sandisk 128GB

    Everything seems to be fine.

    Seemingly, LocalBIOSUpdateTool-64bit32bit.exe + Rom_8MB_Tablet_A5C8.bin bricked my tablet..

Is there anything I could do?

Now, I checked out the back of the tablet, and I see A5C6, not A5C8..

Worked for me also. Using a 64GB Sandisk Ultra. Formatted eFAT.

Glad to know that on A5C8 works.

Speed is okay.. feels slow, but I think this is how it has to be, similar test above by someone else (Samsung SDXC card, 128GB – formatted as eFAT)!

Deadby, what do you see when try to turn it on?

It simply wouldn’t turn on..  Pressing the power button for 10+ seconds does absolutely nothing.

I’m afraid I totaled my tablet.  I foolishly assumed A5C6 and A5C8 are the same HWwise and the latest firmware would just work for both of them.

    Uh well…
