Sold V3, bought V4 – great, but really slow emmc.
First time that I heard about a V4 with samsung emmc.
Does anyone have it and can share experience, price and where to buy?
Thx

October 24, 2017 at 8:56 am #73861In the bios: Enabled toupad device (disabled by default but I think it adds a better driver)
@james : Please help me with this.Touch pad froze along with windows while browsing you tube, last known change was that system was trying to install a big update, possibly creators update?
I restarted the system and everything worked except the touchpad, checked for drivers, uninstalled it and reinstalled it no go.
So I disabled the windows update service and tried rolling back updates, no go.Wanted to just reset the laptop to stock, but after fresh/clean reset file copy / re-install it gave me a blue screen error with a QR code to Microsoft page.
Looks like i might have to do a fresh re-install.Gutted, as its only a week old.
November 5, 2017 at 4:00 pm #74425I have the latest revision of the EZBOOK 3 Pro that comes with the SanDisk eMMC.
I’m trying to improve touchpad performance and accuracy by finding a compatible driver. Currently device manager shows the following information for the HID-compliant touch pad, loaded with a Microsoft driver:
HID\VEN_SYNA&DEV_3602&Col02
HID\SYNA3602&Col02
HID\*SYNA3602&Col02
HID\VID_0911&UP:000D_U:0005
HID_DEVICE_UP:000D_U:0005
HID_DEVICEBased on the above I would assume the touchpad is made by Synaptics, however none of the drivers I tried actually ended up replacing the default Microsoft driver.
I was able to improve overall responsiveness from the touchpad configuration options within Windows, but still there’s some degree of jerkiness, especially when using 2 finger scrolling.
Any ideas if there’s a compatible dedicated driver for this touchpad floating around somewhere?
Cheers!
November 6, 2017 at 12:52 pm #74464Okay, I’ve made some progress on the touchpad driver issue.
The generic Synaptics Windows 10 I2C Devices v19.0.19.1 driver can be force loaded to replace the default Microsoft driver in the device manager under ‘Mice and other pointing devices’.
I haven’t found a way to enable the Synaptics control panel in order to make adjustments though, so these can only be applied via the Win10 panel.
2 finger scrolling seems much smoother now, especially after disabling pinch to zoom which used to often kick in unintentionally before.
November 6, 2017 at 7:48 pm #74481Hey there, just wanted to let everyone know, the v4 with the new touchpad is currently the product being shipped apparently. Got the best of everything, new touchpad as well as a Sandisk – EMMC =)
Can confirm the other postings. 😉

Haha, yeah, realized that already. Annoying as f***
November 10, 2017 at 10:11 pm #74672Yeah the Keyboard is really worse…. it looses some leetters while writing. Is there a possibility to adapt this with a new Driver or sth like this?
December 12, 2017 at 3:25 pm #75801Any idea if / how a replacement of the trackpad is possible?
- How to access the built in touchpad? Removing the bottom cover was easy, but I could not remove the internals from the keyboard cover to access the touchpad.
- Where are touchpads (with correct size etc.) available as spare parts?
December 12, 2017 at 3:41 pm #75802<p style=”text-align: left;”>I had started thinking the same way but finally avoided all the risks and hazzle.</p>
The cheapest way is to buy the V4s Version and to resell your old one before Chrismas. You might loose a bit of money but that won’t be much more than the price + shipping of a particular trackpad as spare part. Particular spare parts from china are hard to find and at least feel pretty expensive . That’s why I stopped and sold mine pretty good – while the new V4 was even cheaper.
Good luck - WOLF
December 13, 2017 at 9:25 am #75829Probably a good idea. However, the V4 seems to have problems with the keyboards…
December 13, 2017 at 10:07 pm #75839You can quite simply improve the touchpad of the V3 with a few registry keys. The way I discovered this is through the V4: after configuring Windows on the V4, some settings were synchronised to my V3 which vastly improved the touchpad.
These are the keys I was able to find in the registry of the V3. I’m not 100% sure whether it works, but it’s worth a try (save the attachments as .reg files and apply them, or otherwise add them manually).

What drivers are you using on your V3 machine?

None; just the default Windows stuff.
And in regards to the keyboard: it’s not a fix, but a shaky workaround. The brightness control of the screen is incredibly laggy, even with the registry changes.
