Is your SD bug only in windows? If so there is a alternative driver to fix this, using it by my own. The only thing it reduce the write and reading speed for the SD extremly, but it work…
How slow are we talking about here? If I can still play HD videos (and can revert back in case of future fix), then I will probably use it.
I noticed some sort of update on TeclastOTA, but it always failed one way or another. So I reinstalled the tablet, and did get 10GB more for Windows, which I’m working on right now. I’ll check TeclastOTA again, might’ve failed cause of 429. If it still checks for updates (failure or not) instead of undiscover new version, then the files they provided on Dropbox really didn’t change anything.

August 17, 2017 at 5:06 pm #70728Was sort of busy and still waiting for OTA, cause it seems to be checking for something. I’ll give up when it goes back to undiscover new version, or Dropbox 429 is finally lifted again and it still fails. Anyhow:

Would prefer something more up-to-date if possible… Rather not disable Driver Signature Verification, especially not permanently. Is backing up old drivers enough to revert back in the future? And it can frag microSD? Well, still an option I guess.

Problem with that is it can cover either headphone jack and USB 3.0, or DC input and possibly micro HDMI. And it sticks out, cost extra, and have to take it on/off for the case I sometimes put on without keyboard.
Curious though, can you charge the tablet and use it at the same time with just that USB-C pass through port?
August 18, 2017 at 12:33 am #70736Surprisingly, this seemed to have made it a bit better (I think/thought):
https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/reading-sdxc-card/page/23/#post-47417Had the microSD connected through 5+ hours of standby, then disconnected while adding my collection to Groove Music.
Then I reconnected and got through 15+ minutes of music playing, some manga reading, etc. Worked until I tried to play an anime…
Or maybe my memory is bad, and never bothered to measure it before. Do I really have to keep Windows 10 in testing mode or something just for consistent 10 MB/s read? Here’s hoping there’s an actual OTA to fix this.
August 21, 2017 at 6:29 pm #70849OK, the SD card problem is quite peculiar. On one instance, it disconnected after 5 minutes and I didn’t even do anything. On another, I successfully copied 30 GB of files from it to my flash drive. Then left it overnight. Still worked late into the morning until I tried to play a video…
And TeclastOTA is definitely bugged. Kept looking for updates until it fails, and no notable network activity according to Simple System Monitor.
Oh well, whatever. That’s why I got a new flash drive, though it was for installing Windows at first. I don’t really care anymore, will try testing mode if needed.
*The registry hack definitely made it last hours longer. Without it, the microSD ejects within minutes of startup.
August 26, 2017 at 4:56 am #70981Dropbox link 404 (completely down), and Teclast website doesn’t change it… TeclastOTA changes picture, and now goes back to “Undiscover new version”. SD card still ejects by itself.
I’d be so disappointed if I didn’t make it better myself by bypassing Dropbox 429, resizing the partitions, finding the registry hack that extends microSD usage by hours, etc.
At least I don’t get unresponsive black screens in Android anymore.
August 31, 2017 at 4:53 am #71215TeclastOTA finally worked for once and upgraded Android to Build number V1.01_20170828 (no other version changes)… Sounds louder than before, and now there’s a “Fix Rotation” toggle in Notifications (which only locks the rotation to a landscape mode).
I’ll let you guys know if there are any changes in the Windows microSD ejection bug, but I have my doubts…
September 13, 2017 at 5:01 pm #72078Hello, i am looking for the firmware too… Has anyone been able to download the one from teclast’s website (through dropbox, which is now a 404 page)?
Thanks.
September 13, 2017 at 6:26 pm #72081I already posted a mirror: https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/where-to-find-tbook-16-power-firmware-m5f8/#post-70324
September 13, 2017 at 7:26 pm #72083Hi Jeff,

I’m looking for the v1.06 android installs (v1.06 is dated August 30th) from the following site…

<td>2017-08-30</td>
<td>TbooK 16 Power (M5F8) – Dual System (Android6.0 + Win10) installation file</td>
<td>V1.06_20170824 (android 6.0) & 20161210 (Win10_RS1)</td>
<td>Update Andrews firmware to V1.06 version, the main: 1, to solve the installation of certain third-party applications after the system Caton problem; 2, to optimize system stability and fluency;</td>

The download above brings me to a page where i’m trying to download the files… unfortunately i’m not able to download as i need an account…Has anyone got this one?
Thanks.
September 13, 2017 at 7:31 pm #72084Sorry, I don’t know where to get those. I just reinstalled and applied OTA.
Custom gpt.bin is really useful though, I shrank my Android partition to 10GB and gave the space to Windows. I can share that file if you want.

Oh that’s cool, shrinking it down… Thank you for that.. i just may consider that.. if anything, i’d want more with it…
I was able to download the v1.06 firmware (using tampermonkey and a script to bypass login info on baidu)… so i’ll have to give this a shot.
How difficult was it for you to reapply the bootloader OS chooser?
Thanks.

The OS chooser was easy to restore once you find this:

Thank you for those… Hopefully i can get back to that point.
Right now, i’m trying to restore the tablet so that i can get into android… unfortunately the bios just continues to come back up.
The only Boot Option i have is the UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell.
I don’t see the internal hard drive anywhere as a choice…
Any ideas?
