I bought this replacement ssd: http://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-642 But it doesnt show up in bios. Is it not compatible with the x2 pro for some reason?
Precurius, i thought it was pretty much plug an play with these m2 SSD drives from the big makers, and partically the more commen retail versions..
perhaps asked Transcend if they got a solution or download or at least can point you in a way, so the X2 will accept there drive.,
February 7, 2016 at 3:17 pm #25283Thx Jakob ;). Yesterday I changed two drivers, and my audio via HDMI is back ;):
1. Audio – Realtek driver (I used drivers from the forum- Teclast X2 Pro doubledrivers dump)
2. Display Audio – I downloaded original driver from Intel site, because I couldn’t load a driver from dump). This driver is responsible for display with audio when you connect a tablet and tv via HDMI.February 7, 2016 at 3:20 pm #25284I bought this replacement ssd: http://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-642 But it doesnt show up in bios. I have found out that it’s not my ssd that causes my problems so I’m going to return it. It is my WiFi driver or WiFi card. It makes my X2 to freeze…
February 8, 2016 at 3:31 pm #25392Helloi remember reading x2 pro has a small spot on lcd that is directly related to the processor heat like a burn or something that happens over time.
Has this been resolved or still happen?

There is a file you place in your windows directory for the windows key to work, putting that back also made my pen work.

Return the SSD M.2 or X2?
Myself got two issues, unsure why mine weighs massive 915grams in regards to others and the officially 844grams, and dont like that many sensors and hardware-informations in my systems states failure, and all my clock timings in memory is blank, and if its the heat of 93 degrees that take place at some demanding work, and if that heat have taken its told on the systems-hardware..
Havent open it yet, dont wanne damage the small garanti i got.
but my x2 does work and the stylus and keyboard is a joy to use..
February 13, 2016 at 12:51 am #25850But I do like the magnets in keyboard, ideel for mouse and stylus..

Yeah, im talking to the seller right now trying to figure out a sollution.
February 13, 2016 at 5:24 pm #25907The freezing problems with wifi driver / card, was that also the case before clean install, with the original m2 ssd?
otherwise try the teclast bios update..http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/bios-win10-multi-language-file/ (havent tested it myself)
got no problems with freezing but havent done an clean install only insider previewbuild14257, only thing that seems to keep dying and from day one, is the video feature when trying to record something program just close down, but with that standard that its record in, its no issue and not something i will miss.
// btw be carefull by shipping it back, if you have done mods, you risk an seller that will take advantage of the modded faulty product and stand on his heals with you money and have all the cards in his hand, due to the usermod with opening it.
February 13, 2016 at 5:43 pm #25910I hardly used the teblet with the original OS. I reinstalled it right away. The tablet had been working fine and all the sudden it just freezes when connected to wifi for some reason. And it is with the original SSD. The new one I bought dont work.
Hmm, how can the seller see that the tablet has been open? I had no glue that keeps the tablet together, just regular clips
February 13, 2016 at 11:41 pm #25945I havent had mine open, so got no insigtht into how well this devices close after being open and modded and not least clips versus adhesive.
I notice that Chris from this site ‘ stated on youtube in a YT-comment about opening these china-devives for thermal mod that it will loose some of that solid tight feeling of solid build, when you open it.. but as i reckon it was comment before he actually got his, and likely in more general view.
But again i havent open it yet, and got no idea of how well this device comes together and partically not clips vs adhesive. its was just an notice and it could be an hazzle for you if you shipped it around the world, since that could change the picture about consumer-rights and partically in China..
But it seems you have an good talk with the seller so no worries..
But you could try the new original teclast bios i linked to that Mark delivered and uploaded ‘ to see if that solve your problems..
February 14, 2016 at 6:14 am #25959Yeah, im a little torn apart if im gonna send it away. I have decided to give it a shot to try to solder on a USB-wifi card. Meaning, the wifi-card that is causing the problem wont be used anyway. So I dont know what to do…
Have you decided whether you will open it or not?
February 17, 2016 at 3:29 am #26224Anyone know what glue to use to glue the backcover back on the screen. I will send my away and to be sure that they can’t blame me to open it, I would like to glue it.
So the question is, what glue?
February 17, 2016 at 11:33 am #26254Yesterday I’ve checked the contact of wifi antenna – it’s ok.
Also verified, that tablet crashes only with backcover. Tried to check short circuits on backcover – but nothing found(
BTW, here is my heat sink mod.
1. It consists of three copper plates soldered with tin on a gas stove (before that, do not forget to use sandpaper where you’ll solder and use rosin). Try not to overheat, and after switching off the gas tight squeeze with each other. Excess tin that is spilled on the plate – evenly smear on the hot soldering plate, so do not take useful space.
2. Biggest plate – 0.5 mm thick, the rest are 1 mm. Dimensions in mm are on photos attached.
3. Screw washers are 0.25 mm thick, glued on adhesive.
4. Thermal pad is 0.5 mm thick in size of plate.
5. On the backcover I had to cut back the “black” tape in order to align the height of the cover. And advise for future modders of Teclast x2 Pro… Who gave that crappy idea to unglue backcover with heardrier???
Backcover is mounted with latches, which are designed to be openned many times. Mine was openned >20 times, nothing is broken.
