I don’t know if it’s normal to all i7 book tablets, but here is the battery report where I see 9.25% actual decrease but then it has been stabilized.

    Hello.

Finally got my m2 sata to usb adapter and I got to clone the original 64GB SSD to a Transcend 256GB using Macrium Reflect (process took about 7 mins).

I then opened the tablet for the first time to install the new SSD which was an ok process for a newbie, and the toughest part was the side with the USB ports etc (also be careful not to lose the little mesh for the speakers, one of them fell out and I saw it was missing just before I was about to close the tablet).

I added also just a thermal pad also (which seems to make a huge difference, did a PC Mark test and after 30 minutes max temp was 86 degrees Celsius compared to 100 that it had before) and then swapped the SSDs.

The Transcend one works much faster, as all 256GB do after all in comparison to the 128GB ones (that’s the reason I opted for the larger SSD).

The question that I have now, is it safe to expand the partition to use the unallocated space using windows disk management or should I just create another partition and be done with it?

EDIT: Got the front camera issue fixed by using drivers from this site a few times, suddenly it fixed itself. I had the issue with the cameras also, I deleted the camera drivers and Intel Control Logic ones, now the back camera seems to work, but the front camera still doesn’t work. Any ideas what might be the problem with that one?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I want to buy a bigger SSD and a thermal pad and I have a few questions and I haven’t found an answer for my questions elsewhere, and they are related to this thread’s topic.

Should I go for a 128 GB Transcend from a local store or should I go for a 256 GB Kingspec from Aliexpress? Would the write speed be that much lower on a 128GB drive in comparison to a 256GB one? Going for a 256GB Transcend is out of the question unfortunately due to the high cost. For reference I can get a 128GB Transcend or Adata from a local store for 55 EUR, a 256GB Transcend or Adata from a local store for 110 EUR and for the 256GB Kingspec from AliExpress for about 65 EUR.

(I don’t need more than 128GB but if the speed difference is that high, I will consider going for the larger Chinese drive and hope it won’t blow up soon and lose all data).

Also, regarding the thermal pad, should I go for any generic 0.5mm pad from ebay/Aliexpress or should I go for a brand like the Arctic one mentioned in this thread? How much difference would it make in temperature drop? Sure it will cost me like 1 EUR to get the generic pad and about 10 EUR for the Arctic one, but if the difference will be 5-6 degrees Celsius at least I’ll certainly go for the Arctic one.

Some links generally on what to buy would help greatly with all these things, as I’m a bit lost with all the options.
