May 5, 2016 at 11:24 pm #36226Well, after several tests, now it works. I don’t know why, i think it was copied badly to my pendrive. Now run, but only with nomodeset option. I have tried change video to several resolutions and changing hz to 78 (when boot options shows this hz), but nothing. The system works correctly, but the tools doesn’t work, the rotate of screen doesn’t work with the scripts and the wifi doesn’t work. Also I have tried running modprobe directly from console, but nothing.
May 2, 2016 at 7:32 pm #35837Got it!!! Internal WiFi (Realtek 8723bs) Working with kernel 4.5.1 patched thanks to Akmelius https://goo.gl/photos/Wzes4GnrGvwKMN3C9 https://goo.gl/photos/MCF2VVcwajp3XBT77 New instructions on http://XJubunTAB.xjesus.net . And tomorrow I will upload ISO with WiFi working.
I tested the last and at first doesn´t work. I need to write nomodeset and finally starts. But when the desktop is starting the screen freezes and i can´t do nothing. The mouse doesn´t work and i try to change to TTY with ALT+CTRL + FX and nothing happens.
PD: jesus_manuel_marin_navarro he visto que estas trabajando en la distro y que hablas español, soy informatico con experiencia en linux con la tablet disponible. Asi que si te puedo echar una mano mandame un privado, actualmente me ocurre lo q he descrito.
February 4, 2016 at 1:15 pm #24946Hi, xubuntu15.04+kernel4.4(deb from here) is almost the same as Mint, but I can get dot-by-dot & rotatable display. About RTL8723BS(wifi), still no luck…
I read about cherry and bay trail and I saw the kernel 4 is more compatible with this cpu`s.
January 27, 2016 at 10:18 pm #24066Hi, thanks for your menthion. I like linux, I use linux 90% time in my laptop so the first I try with this tablet is boot my favorite distro. I don´t install because I prefer wait to get a bigger sd card to install, and try to boot with a boot partition, but I don´t get to work the sdcard in linux. Can you get to work the sdCard?
On the other hand, I found this about Wifi, if you have the tablet with the realtek chiptset http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2249936
Sorry for my English!!
January 19, 2016 at 12:02 am #22941Hi, I got to run Linux Mint the other day, I could pass the black screen.
You need to chage the order boot in te bios, you connect a keyboard and press del while you turn on the tablet. In the bios changes the boot order and put the first the usb. Download the iso, mount and copy the files to an USB stick, reboot with this USB and a keyboard connect. When the tablet starts, you can see a boot selection, you need to select safe mode, in the normal mode you’ll get a black screen. When you select safe mode you’ll see a lot of words, and you have to wait a long time to linux load. When linux finishes load, you’ll see a error, press enter until the error dissapear, then, you have linux, but in command line mode (whithout X). If you want to run X mode, you need to chage a littel configuration. Write in the console “sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf” and press enter, this will open a text editor and you need to find the line with the driver. In this line you have to change “vesa” by “intel”, press CTRL + O to save the changes and CTRL + X to exit. Now, only need to execute “sudo service mdm restart” and the X server will start.
EDIT: I forgot it, you need the 64 bits iso, and dont working nothing (touchscreen, wifi, sdcard…)
Sorry for my english, I’m spanish and I’m studing english now.
