Tried HDMI cable with Android and it works fine ( but ony at a ‘fixed’ screen resolution of 1920×1080 as you cant change it in android it seems ).
Also works using ‘screen mirroring’ to my smart TV ( but not such good quaility picture ( particularly poor text on screen )Also my X98 air does not ‘invert’ its screen when connected to the TV in android !
Still cannot resolve the inverted screen when using HDMI/Scrren mirroring in windows, Can someone tell me what screen orientation it says in the settings > Display page when the tablet is held upright with forward facing camera to the right-top corner ( ie does it say Lanscape or Lanscape-flipped ). Mine says Lanscape Flipped.
( pulling my hair out with this problem )January 3, 2016 at 5:24 pm #21097The ‘original keyboard and protective cover/holder’ is brilliant design ( just wish it had a touchpad ! ) as shown in Chris’s utube video and the keyboard is a pleasure to use ( it connects almost instantly, being blueooth 4.0, and even stores the keystrokes as you type your logon password while its connecting with the tablet ).
The keys are a bit ‘bouncy’ and if your typing with it balanced on a the arm of a settee ( as I am ) it sometimes misses or doubles/mistypes letters but on a hard surface its fine.
The protective cover is the same size as an ipad back cover but the slots and holes for buttons and connectors/speakers are in the wrong place !.December 18, 2015 at 5:14 pm #19082Saw a reply to this question on one of the sellers Q&A ( Gearbest.com, I think ).
It said that charging via the OTG hub/port is not supported whilst peripherals are connected. This would damage the Tablets battery due to overcharging so you have decide to either power and use the attached devices or charge the Tablet ( not both together ). Hence the little switch to switch between the 2 modes.
I also some found other ‘otg’ intelegent powered hubs ( apart from the one sold frequently with the Teclast tablet, with the 2,3 or 4 dangly leads and a mode switch ) dont work at all !I would be interested if anyone knows of a way around this as its scuppered me using a powered USB directional Wifi aerial when abroad in the camper from downloading movies and TV as the Tablets battery wont last long enough to leave it overnight downloading.
December 18, 2015 at 4:53 pm #19079Yes the HDMI port is fuctional, you need a Micro HDMI to HDMI lead.
If you keep it short ( less than 3mtrs ) it works, over that length and you need a ‘repeater-booster’ inline but its a bit trial and error as it takes power from the teclast hdmi port.
Excellent quality image on a full HD TV,, would thing its astounding on a UHDTVMine has one major problem which I am trying to fix…. as soon as the tablet see’s the device ( TV etc ) on the HDMI it flips the image upside-down on the Tablet and shows the image on the TV correct way round. Both rotate due to the G-sensor action so both images are inverted to each other no matter which way you turn the tablet.
( You cannot access the ‘screen lock’ function to disable the G-sensor on the Tablet when it is connected to a HDMI device )If you have a smart TV with ‘screen mirroring’ that also works wirelessly ( on mine its also inverted ) but the TV image lag behind the Tablet is unbearable to use !
December 18, 2015 at 4:35 pm #19077Had similar problems on my X98 air 3G.
You won’t find any useful answers on Skype.
Fixed mine by uninstalling the front and back camera’s in device manager and installing the camera drivers from this site…. this fixed the upside-down skype image but still left me with inverted images on the front camera ( when using the Win 10 camera app ).
After hours of installing/reinstalling the camera drivers and re-booting the tablet with no change I decided to re-download the camera app from windows play store.
The installation for the camera app tells you that its already installed but click the download button again and it instantly displayed the camera image correct way up !!!.I still have one remaining problem.. that of HDMI mirrored images on the TV being upside down with the Tabley seated in its holder.
Could someone out there place their tablet in Landscape orientation with the forward camera at the right top (buttons on top right edge ), go to settings > Display and tell me what it says about the screen orientation in this position.
Mine says its ‘Landscape ( flipped )’ ie it thinks the tablet is upside down. I believe this is causing the HDMI image to be presented inverted on the TV compared to this orientation of the tablet ?.December 9, 2015 at 7:49 pm #18042I use the tablet in the ‘original’ teclast holder with bluetooth keyboard. The mounting method is only 1 way so I cannot rotate the tablet 180 deg as the holes for the buttons, speakers, rear camera would be in the wrong place.
Also its a real struggle to get the tablet out of the plastic holder as it ‘clicks’ in gripping the edges of the tablet very firmly.
The problem of the screen inverting only happens in windows not android so its something to do with a windows system setting.Perhaps a clue ? When the tablet sits in the holder ( with front camera to the top right ) and I look at the screen settings it show Landscape ( Flipped ).
If I change the setting to Landscape the screen image turns upside down.
Is this normal for the X98 Air ?December 4, 2015 at 10:33 pm #17655Hi, I have been struggling with the HDMI out…
I have tried a HDMI ver 1.3 cable and it works fine except the TV image is ‘inverted’ compared to the teclast’s screen.
A cable over 3m has too much loss ( a 4 or 5m cable does not work but I have found using a 1.8m with a hdmi repeater/booster in line with a 4m cable does work ( just/a bit intermittent ).The screen mirroring facility of win 10 does work ( with a smart tv ) but again its inverted picture and there is an unbearable lag between the teclast screen and the tv image.
I use my x98 air in an original plastic holder with bluetooth keyboasrd and a bluetooth mouse and as the teclast can only be mounted one way ( landscape with the connectors top left ) I can not resolve the TV image being upside down ?
Anyone got any ideas how to correct this upside down hdmi image issue ?
