Any advice would be appreciated. I would love to have Windows 10, but I don’t want to risk bricking my new tablet.
Hi, I’m considering upgrading my new Vi10 Pro (Serial 2215110XXXX) to Windows 10. My current BIOS is J1D-S165C_206. What are the risks of updating to Windows 10? Do I need to upgrade my BIOS first or does the version I have support Windows 10? Are there drivers I should pre-install or at least preload onto the hard drive prior to the upgrade? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. -Josh

November 23, 2015 at 10:25 am #16430Your firmware version serial device pls! Guide for installation link.
I’m not sure my issue was the same as your issue. I installed the blur fix for android and it stopped my touchscreen from working. My touchscreen still worked fine in windows 8 but the blur fix had broken something in android. I only reinstalled android and that is as far as i went, because at the moment i have no intention of upgrading to windows 10. Windows 8 does what i need it to do so there is no real need (aside from hype) for me to upgrade.

Was just about to post for help when i figured it out. Thanks Phillip, i was in the same boat as steve, i went ahead and installed the blur fix without realising i didnt need it and it broke the touchscreen in Android. I could not for the life of me find a harware id in device manager for the SOC so i just used the value mentioned in the guide. It took me a couple of turns to realise i had to check device manager and grab the android id when i got to the same screen felix was stuck on. A quick change to the settings in MFT and start the entire proceedure again came up trumps. All in all it turned out well, now i can load up all the android games i have amassed through humble bundle and have a bit of fun. Cheers fella.

I’m having the same kind of problems with my Vi10 pro. I’ve tried all kind of things but can find anything to fix it. I’m at the stage that I’m about to send the tablet back as faulty because the same problem in both Android and Windows leads be to believe it has to be some kind of hardware problem.

If anyone is interested I am selling mine on ebay: http://r.ebay.com/263HqW Here you go guys and girls. Hope this helps those of us that have a 64GB PRO version with S165C. Just a note to some people, my bios say Realtek but my working drivers once this is all installed are Broadcom. Please let me know if this helped you out. Firstly, the youtube video:
<iframe class=”arve-inner” src=”//www.youtube.com/embed/LFmEtvpKlKE?wmode=transparent&iv_load_policy=3&modestbranding=1&rel=0&autohide=1&v=LFmEtvpKlKE&autoplay=0″ width=”300″ height=”150″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”></iframe><button class=”arve-btn arve-btn-close arve-hidden”>x</button>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFmEtvpKlKE Secondly, when updating to windows 10 It had problems migrating data (accounts, apps etc) So I tried again without keeping anything and it updated fine and kept all the drivers. It even kept the touch driver, however touch wasn’t working. So when I went to the desktop I went into device manager and the new touch driver is there. So all I did was copy the icnfirmware.sys file to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers then rebooted and everything is working. You will also need to re-setup the Dual OS Switcher app again, in the same way as before. Thirdly, Find the guide attached with download links:
