Well done! Now that you mention it, I remember I had to install Windows USB drivers too. Hopefully, all future updates will be by OTA.

I don’t recall making any changes to the flashing software but it is possible, as I had pretty much given up hope, and kept trying random combinations of button presses etc, when it suddenly started working. Here is the Alldocube forum link for more info:

Don’t give up. It does work eventually. The good news is that the latest firmware, arrived by OTA yesterday. Much easier than the manual system.

I think I did everything starting with the Alldocube site : https://www.alldocube.com/en/firmware/alldocube-iplay20t1011s-firmware-download/

I think the version used in the video tutorial was generic and not meant to be specific. The flashing software versions I used were: SP Flash_Tool_v5.20 and SPUpgrade_v2.9.3 but I’m sorry I can’t remember which one finally worked.

I suggest you use the latest upgrade (November?), since you have to unbrick anyway.

Yes, I used the August update for the unbricking. I am waiting for the November update to come by OTA. I do not want to risk bricking the tablet again by manually downloading, as it can be a pain.

I used the August version but I think there is now a November update.

Thank you. I followed your unbricking procedure and it worked for me, admittedly after several failed attempts. The new firmware was loaded and I managed to restore the tablet from a backup. It would have been so much easier to have received the firmware update OTA by WiFi in the first place. I think I’ll leave firmware updates until these come OTA.

I too have just attempted to install the latest firmware but have ended up bricking the tablet. I’m not convinced that I executed the update properly. My question is, how can I unbrick the tablet and restore it to its original state, without installing the new firmware? I took the precaution of doing a full backup prior to attempting the upgrade. So if I can get the device working, I should be able to recover my data. Any ideas?
