X80 Power has the same issue. Seems to be one process (system_server) that prevents the tablet to enter DeepSleep.

Yep, same wifi issues here. Sloodki must be very lucky that it improved for him. From a technical standpoint it’s impossible that the wifi reception changes under windows at all due to the update. On Android side it could be that the update includes better drives, but even there for me the performance is not better.

This is actually an update for the Android OS and includes no BIOS update. So Wi-Fi reception on Windows does not change at all. Furthermore the update made no difference to wifi reception on Android either (in my case).

This seems to be the “better” all around package at the moment:

The sad thing is, the the components are all of decent quality. It’s just the last bit of engineering and testing that is missing. Maybe they don’t care about these things.

X80 wifi reception is bad on Windows as well as Android – these are hardware related design (antenna, case) issues. You can use USB OTG wifi on Windows, but it won’t work on Android.

    • Class 4 SD cards seem to work (Class 10 SD cards I couldn’t get to detect or work reliable – some mount in Windows, but not in Android or vice versa.).
    • OTA updates seem to be broken. The latest 1.09 Android Upgrade is available here: https://yadi.sk/d/CYEkMcHut9cD5 You need to use the Intel Flashtool.
    • Wifi reception is exceptionally poor – I think the worst reception I ever had on a mobile device. I think it’s the result of a bad antenna design combined with the full metal back.

X80 Power wifi is even worse cause of the metal back. Wifi reception drops already 1m far away from router; in room next to router or 4m distance completely unusable.
