Perhaps you should read again – I said MY E3E6s’ Wifi is ok
With “People will” you probably mean “you will”, right? Because I wouldnt pay any more for some unimportant stuff which I dont need at all… basic surfing is fast and smooth for me even in the 2nd Floor (with the router being in the 1st) and thats what matters to me.
July 3, 2016 at 7:09 pm #42562My E3E6 is working without major flaws…
Wifi is ok (not great but ok) and after processing all Windows Updates (including 1511) and using Windows Disk Cleanup aswell as CCleaner I got nearly 5,5GB free on a 19,3GB Partition.
My only small concern is a spot of little light bleed in the bottom left corner, but I think that is totally ok for a 79$ device with that specs…
June 29, 2016 at 12:54 pm #42289Yes, its the x64 edition of MPC-HC
The videos are between 2500 and 2800 Kbps and CPU load while playing is atleast 70% on all cores (sometimes peaking at even 100%) making the tablet kinda hot and draining battery very fast… But as a “pseudo media player” connected to power and a TV this is OK for me as long as it plays the videos without lag/stutter.
June 25, 2016 at 3:54 pm #41960MPC-HC doesnt show anything on the status bar regarding HW or SW
I guess it is hybrid decoding because the same file lags heavily with VLC (both Android and Windows) and MX Player (Android)
June 24, 2016 at 10:43 pm #41925H265 in 10bit works for me on my two Z8300 tablets, but ONLY under Windows with MPC-HC
April 25, 2016 at 10:37 am #34976My observations are basically the same:
Android gets along with 2GB quite well (tough I have to admit I bought my new smartphone in the 3GB version)
Windows struggles as soon as you start multiple apps/programms or multi-tab-browsing (especially with picture/flash/html5 heavy websites)
March 20, 2016 at 8:19 pm #30175
There could be some issues with forcing 64 bit windows on this tablet:
- You would need 64 bit drivers.
- You need a valid 64 bit Windows license.
Benefits of 64 bit OS on 2GB RAM tablet? None I can think of right now.
Windows license is never bit-related, e.g. a working Windows Home license / key always works for 32-bit Windows Home aswell as 64-bit Windows Home
64-bit OS supports 64-bit applications / programs
February 27, 2016 at 6:11 pm #27270Mhh, so nothing definite it seems
Thanks for making me aware 🙂
February 18, 2016 at 10:10 am #26376Any news on this topic? And was dual-boot for the Hi8 Pro even announced?
I would like to buy one for my girlfriends birthday in the mid of May
It is pretty much the best price/performance table but not having Android would be quite a letdown, especially for her
September 30, 2015 at 8:51 am #12193She said the tablet was in Windows and battery was very low before she put it aside and fell asleep. The next morning the tablet was off (she assumed battery empty) and she plugged the charger in. Later that day she tried to boot the tablet but it didn’t react , charger and battery both were cold…
September 28, 2015 at 6:26 pm #12079Mhhh, ok… Thing is, I dont own an eeprom programmer and I have my doubts that a bricked BIOS really is the problem (as the BIOS was not touched at all) so buying one would be an expense which probably will be wasted…
I think I dont have any other realistic option besides contacting geekbuying and send it back to them :/
Anyway, thanks for all your replies!
September 28, 2015 at 5:24 pm #12071Thanks for your reply TecKnight
I got a multimeter from one of friends and the battery shows 3,94V which probably means it is fully charged.
As I am not very good at soldering (and don’t own such a small soldering tool) and don’t want to void the warranty soldering isn’t really and option – besides, the soldering points look just fine, I don’t think that this is the problem.
For flashing the BIOS externally I need a eeprom programmer, correct?
Is it possible to do any “low level communication” from the PC to the tablet? Like ADB commands or something like that?
