I *tried* to buy from OKQI but like I mentioned in this post their “seller shipping method” wasn’t available to me. I would gladly buy via DHL if I only paid £20 in customs, but in my country, DHL charges around £40 just in “processing fees”, on top of which I would have to pay import tax.

Trying to buy a Teclast X98 Plus, The seller “Shenzhen OKQI Electronics Mall” messaged me saying their “seller shipping method”, that is supposed to avoid customs, somehow doesn’t ship to my location because it’s “remote”… I offered an alternative location right in the middle of a big city and they still couldn’t ship it.

They offered to upgrade my shipping to DHL for $13 or so, but that would probably mean a hefty customs charge (likely over $100) so I refused. When I cancelled the order due to the pre-listed reason of “The seller is unable to ship my order by the selected shipping method” they rejected it, asking me to choose the reason “I ordered wrong product” or “I don’t want this product”.

What do you think? Should I do as they say or try to escalate?
