    Hi All,

I dont know whether I got lucky…. my mic works (of a fashion) seems to be down by the speaker grille, as thats where I get most response. Cortana just about recognises me without me needing to revert to shouting – I just had to ramp up the sensitivity settings to get anywhere.

My 3G “just worked” I put an EE SIM in, tweaked the APN Settings and it worked, signal reception isn’t the best, but as I’ll normally tether to my phone then it’s only a fallback. Have tried a Vodafone SIM as well – also works. There is a seeming state of confusion as Windows seems to show RADIO OFF (in the WiFi/Cellular charm) but this is only while the SIM is connecting. It also seems to show Radio Off when there is no Data Session in process.

I also get one unknown device after installing the Onda driver pack.

All in all, I don’t think it’s too shabby a machine (but I seem to have got a good one!), I haven’t seen the throttling yet (the worst I’ve seen is the touch screen isn’t quite as responsive as I’d like so you have to tap a couple of times sometimes), but I haven’t managed to run the machine for extended periods yet (work and life are in the way). So I’m looking at upgrading the SSD now I’ve had it running for a few days.

Dual Boot works (mine came with Chinese Win10 and Chinese Android), but until someone can get root, then apart from browsing the web on Opera then there’s not a lot to be done in Android – sadly.

I cant see any mention, but mine does work (of sorts). The Realtek driver installs it and if you pump everything up to max then I can just get Cortana to recognise me without shouting. I think the mike is somewhere behind the speaker grill as I can get better results talking to that end of the device than the other. Its not brilliant – but it is there. Maybe as Cortana isnt available in China no-one panicked to get a mike working well?

Bill – Kudos to you! Changed the USB and it worked a treat. Have now upgraded to Win10 Pro – which has given me English interface. Word of warning to all the Win 10 Home to Win Pro upgrade via the store is a “hidden key changer” and so you’ll have to extract the key for future reference if you have to reload.

    Thanks Again

@bill-hedworth Can you help by explaining how you got a clean copy of Win10 to load please? Bootable USB created, get to install screen (US Lan, US Keyboard etc) then click next and get “A media Driver your computer needs is missing, this could be a USB, HD or DVD driver, If you have a USB, CD DVD with the driver on please insert now. If the installation media is on the USB you may remove it”

Have tried going through all the folders of the x64 Win10 Drivers folder in the downloads section and cant get any further – any clues please??

    Thanks In Advance

So I upgraded to Win10 Pro, switched display to English and everything seemed to be going well. As I was still coming across Chinese parts, then I decided to do a Windows Reset. At which point things have gone downhill 🙁

The reset failed and I was trapped in a ONDA start screen loop. So broke into Bios and restarted as Android – which worked fine. tried to switch OS from android – Onda Loop, tried to Win10 from the image D/L from here and I get an error message saying that Windows needs reconfiguring, a device is missing and to use USB or DVD media to reload – which I am effectively doing via the D/L WinPe iso?  Tried a version of WIn7 as the ISO instead of the WinPE from here and get same result 🙁

Anyone have any thoughts on what to try please? Any ideas gratefully received – Thanks
