I have same problem as you…my chuwi vi10 plus always freezing and frustated me…and I have tried many ways to resolve it…finally I found the main problem why it keeps freezing?the problem is memory external..! Just remove your external memory then the problem is fixed..your tablet will as smooth as ipad.. Play your tablet without external memory..hope will helping you all…
No! The problem is with internal eMMC storage and there’s already a proper fix available (see above). Using device without sdcard, or with wifi turned off, or changing some BIOS settings makes no difference whatsoever.
Your advice is as useful as saying stop using your device and you don’t have any problem. Of course you should be able to use your device to the full extent of the hardware.
December 26, 2016 at 4:02 pm #59279Just to recap all the ROMs that now include these fixes.

I flashed the freeze fix on my CHUWI V10 Plus running CHUWI’s Android build (rooted) and it’s fixed so far… 5 days without a freeze and I was getting them at least once daily. I was regretting my purchase but I’m really happy with this tablet now! I’ll probably switch back to Remix soon.
You’re welcome.
There’s also a newer Remix OS build available with bunch of issues fixed.
http://konstakang.com/devices/chuwi_vi10plus/RemixOS/December 26, 2016 at 3:56 pm #59277AFAIK Chuwi hasn’t made single boot BIOS available. So if you’ve flashed the dual-boot BIOS yourself, you’re stuck with it.
December 1, 2016 at 10:18 am #57966Fix for ‘freezing issue’ & ‘keyboard dock wake issue’ for stock Remix OS and stock Android is now available.
http://konstakang.com/devices/chuwi_vi10plus/stock-fix-freeze-kbwake/November 26, 2016 at 8:27 am #57519I’ve released a kernel for CM12.1 that has fixed the ‘freezing issue’ for me at least. Basically it’s the Ncard eMMC to blame.
http://konstakang.com/devices/chuwi_vi10plus/CM12.1/Also the ‘keyboard dock wake issue’ is fixed.

The rom runs pretty well, but for me it’s unusable, due to a big issue with Wi-FI, connecting and disconnecting every some seconds. With Remix and Cm12.1 was always stable.
Logs? Haven’t noticed any wifi issues with CM13 on either of my devices (Chuwi Vi10 Plus, Cube iWork8 Ultimate) or received any other reports either.

November 1, 2016 at 7:30 pm #56204I’ve installed the latest Cm12.1, cause I was not able to achieve root on RemixOs, but that’s ok as I like fast and debloated OS :D! I hope Android 6.0.1 can be ported from this tablet http://techtablets.com/2016/10/details-teclast-tbook-16-power-z8750-tablet/ Thanks for your work!
Porting 6.0 from some other device is not going to happen. It’s an impossible task with no kernel source and all the prebuilt binary drivers you’d have to use.
I just started working with CM13 last weekend. Already made some good progress (wifi, audio, av hw decoding/encoding, sensors, etc) but there’s still plenty of major issues remaining. Camera is going to be a major PITA no surprise. Bluetooth is going to cause trouble as well. Also issue with houdini and a strange wakelock that prevents the device from entering deep sleep. No ETAs as usual.

October 25, 2016 at 12:54 pm #55594Good afternoon Gents, I got a Chuwi Vi10 Pro as a gift today…but as i see there is only Remix OS preinstalled. (No dual boot.) It is a very good operation system but i would like to use Win10 too. Is there any possibility to extend? Could i do some magic to install Win 10 and Remix OS too? Thank you for the help.
Did you mean Vi10 Plus? Vi10 Pro is older Bay Trail device with Android 4.4 and Windows 8.1 dual-boot.
Yes, it’s possible to install Windows 10 on Vi10 Plus but AFAIK you’ll need a licence to activate it. Dual-boot Windows&RemixOS/stock Android/CM12.1 is possible as well as single boot Windows or RemixOS/stock Android/CM12.1.
http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-2116-1-1.htmlOctober 25, 2016 at 9:30 am #55552Will this work on the original Vi10?
No. Vi10 has Bay Trail chipset.
October 19, 2016 at 4:28 pm #55203Vi10 Plus: 2gb RAM, 32gb ROM, Remix OS
Hi10 Plus: 4gb RAM, 64gb ROM, Remix OS & Windows 10 dual-bootSame hardware besides the memory and storage configurations. Stock Remix OS firmware is even exactly the same on both devices.
October 16, 2016 at 4:13 pm #55011Thanks! It worked with system/boot flashed on fastboot, while restoring system and/or system image backup, didn’t work. (It seems the problem is Twrp recovery, if I flash it, it get’s stuck on Chuwi logo!! So no Twrp, no root.) Cm12.1 runs well, fast, zero drain problems on screen off, even if Android System voice on battery stats, appears to be always active, but it’s ok. Waiting for audio through HDMI fix, if possible. Sad to hear maybe no Cm13/14. Thanks again for your hard work!
TWRP works just fine. I’ve created/restored several backups without a problem.
Like said, your issue is most likely caused by dm-verity. It’s a great security feature but not so much if you want to hack your device. If you change even single byte on /system partition, your device refuses to boot. That’s also why you need to flash full system image even you want to get back to dm-verity enabled stock (fastboot flash system image or restore raw ‘System Image’ backup of untouched system – restoring regular file based system backup won’t work).
TWRP has option to keep system mounted read only. You should keep this option until you’ve flashed the boot image that disables dm-verity. Stock firmware has script (/system/bin/install-recovery.sh) that would overwrite TWRP with stock recovery. TWRP normally changes permission on that script to prevent this from happening. Even that permission change is enough to trigger dm-verity and device will refuse to boot. So actually you also need to flash the boot image that disables dm-verity if you want to have TWRP on recovery partition. You can only fastboot boot TWRP recovery image with dm-verity enabled.
