Hi,
I have a cheap Chinese Stick PC PCG2U, running Ubuntu 14.04. They provide patched 3.16 kernel, and when you try to upgrade to 16.04, wifi and ethernet doesn’t work anymore.
Anyway, device has Intel Bay Trail Z3735F processor. SoC supports Bluetooth also, but PCG02U does not advertise or use it.
Anyway, someone (http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/05/26/updating-star-cloud-pcg02u-to-ubuntu-16-04-with-wifi-and-hdmi-audio-support/) has managed to install Linux 4.5 kernel and patched it for HDMI audio.
The device also uses Realtek RTL8723BS WiFi and Realtek RTL8732BS Bluetooth and there are some patches to enable Wifi support.
For Bluetooth support someone (https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723bs_bt) came quite far, but I was unable to enable it (https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723bs_bt/issues/13).
So, my question is – are (at least some of those) issues resolved with 4.8 kernel? Do you have any experience with this?
There is a new device from this manufacturer (PCG03U), and it seems really nice and cheap. So if newer Ubuntu will be working there, it would be just great…
