Well I have another much better solution – I use this adjustable powerbank: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20V-Mobile-Power-Bank-UPS-6-18650-Battery-Charger-For-Laptop-Iphone-Universal-/321866773183?var=&hash=item4af0c132bf Inside I have 6 panasonic 18650 ncr18650b (3400mAh) cells. The efficiency is very high – about 95% measured and there is virtually NO heat produced. Test here: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=sl&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Freview-china.com%2Faliexpress%2F8488-.html&edit-text=

Sorry to revive an old thread but does that actually work as a mobile charging solution? The item description indicates it only works as battery backup.

I have got EZBook 3 Pro with a 35.48 W*h battery (almost brand new). Here is what I use to charge it:

    1. Xiaomi Power Bank 2C 20000 mah, 74 W*h capacity (almost brand new).
    2. A USB to 3.5/1.35 mm DC jack cable. It should be as short as possible and the wires should be thick enough (I took an old iPad 2 USB cable)
    3. A QC 2.0/3.0 trigger, as joe321 specified: aliexpress.com/item/2016-newet-arrive-QC2-0-QC3-0-quick-Charger-Trigger-Power-Bank-Test-Board-USB-Female/32686950937.html

With a full power bank, I am able to charge the laptop 1.33 times (laptop turned off, 0 to 100% and then 0 to 33%). This results in 65% efficiency. It takes around 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100%. The power bank gets just a little bit warm at the output side.

The bad part is as follows:

    1. If laptop is off, it can be charged perfectly without an issue.
    2. If laptop is on and battery level is 80-85% or higher, it is charged normally to 100% as well.
    3. If laptop is on and battery level is under 80-85%, it is not being charged.

I assume that for high battery levels, the laptop is designed to be charged at a lower current. So “designed battery charging current” plus “working laptop consumption current” is lower than the power bank can provide; charging works. At battery levels lower than 80% “designed battery charging current” increases, and the sum of two currents offsets the maximum current that can be provided by Xiaomi 2C. When this is a case, the laptop is not charging at all (zero current at USB doctor). Though, if you, for example, turn of the screen (reduce consumption), the laptop will start charging. This is basically my assumption.

    Thanks.

I am experiencing the same problem btw. I got my laptop in late February (v6). After a month, the WiFi adapter disappeared as described above.

WiFi stick does solve the problem though both USB ports are occupied now (mouse + WiFi). Not good at all
