Hmm strange , I’ve used the plus method on a pro , don’t have drains , sd card(s) works , resolution can be reset by a DPI app like Resolution Changer

used these DPI setting width 1200 Height 1920 DPI 312

only got some SD failures in windows but is already raised in other forum topics and sandisk only works for me

I even installed the pro image on a plus model and works fine also (except for one boot logo error message)

download the mega.nz link and use the root x80 plus updated instructions

follow the instructions carefully and ready , its the same tablet only the screen is different

see screenshot as proof it works fine

Root works fine just use the X80 plus guidance in this forum
