Hi SG
Have you tried swiping down from top right side? There should be OS switch in the menu.
September 11, 2015 at 1:35 pm #11289That’s good to know.
Who thought that the easiest solution will turn out to be the best one.
September 11, 2015 at 9:45 am #11273It is a version called “Windows 8.1 with Bing”, I think it is only available for hardware manufacturers and is only pre installed at the factory. Maybe Chuwi has an option to download a restore image which will give an activated windows intallation – I never checked that out, but I’m sure there is an answer for that somethere in the forums.
September 11, 2015 at 6:01 am #11266Hi Mihaly,
I can only recommend restoring to Windows 8 and upgrading with Windows 10 media creation tool, that’s assuming that the restored Windows 8 is activated – I can’t know that.
September 11, 2015 at 5:32 am #11265Hi Andre,
Upgrading to Windows 10 will keep all your programs so dualboot and all other features will remain.
Performing a clean install will wipe out only the Windows partition and you’ll need to setup dualboot manually.
August 23, 2015 at 6:23 pm #10252I checked now the link points to DualOSSwitcher<span style=”color: #000000; font-family: ‘Open Sans’; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.5;”>.exe</span>
August 16, 2015 at 7:57 pm #9867Maybe this will work:

August 16, 2015 at 7:52 pm #9866Sorry. I. Could not find it. Maybe I deleted it or I don’t remember where I saved it. Try again the downloads page maybe I missed it, or try this:
http://techtablets.com/download/Chuwi/Hi8/SileadTouch%20files%20for%20Chuwi%20Hi8.zip
August 16, 2015 at 7:23 pm #9860Happened to me too. The touch driver from tt download page should solve it. I searched for the link now but for some reason I couldn’t find it. It was there a week ago. Strange…
August 16, 2015 at 4:48 pm #9845Hi Mario,
Bacause of the limited spce on these kinds of tablets, I think the best method is to do a clean install with Windows media creation tool. I chose to do it with a USB memory stick because it’s faster than the MicroSD card. You can check my earlier post to see the step it took me to install.
Note that installation process can be slow, and look like it’s get stuck – so be patient.
August 15, 2015 at 2:02 pm #9761I agree with Glenn. The legality of the image method is questionable.
Even if you want to use the flashing method, first upgrade to Windows 10 with the Media Creation Tool and then flash the image – this way Windows 10 will reactivate itself.
I don’t remember how, but I also managed Windows to put the Windows.old recovery directory on the USB drive thus saving me precious space on my Chuwi hard drive.
August 12, 2015 at 5:06 pm #9487If you are updating from an activated Windows 8 and are prompt to enter a registration key, just choose skip this step and Windows 10 will activate itself automatically later on.
August 2, 2015 at 1:21 am #8269You can install with reserve notification, it’s even easier. you can possibly have 3 problems:
- You might not have enough space so you’ll need a SD card or external USB storage to download Windows 10.
- Touch might not be calibrated so you’ll need an external USB mouse and keyboard for initial Windows setup and to install Chuwi Hi8 touch driver (needs reboot).
- If you choose clean install like me you’ll need to download a program called Insyde_Q2S to restore dual boot.
That is how I installed. but I did not wait to Windows notification, I just went to Windows 10 download page.
because I made an upgrade my Windows 10 was preactivated.
August 1, 2015 at 7:47 am #8167Must I restore double drivers? I’ve checked in the device manager and everything seems to be installed. Camera seems to be fine too.
