    Many problems are due to the energy control of the video panel. The battery is not suitable for display consumption !. Cube is really unlucky with batteries dedicated to the Core M, and I know something, having bought in the past a Cube I7 core M and a Cube I9. No support, no possibilities of buy a new original batteries. I recommend deactivating the automatic refresh and maximizing the energy dedicated to the panel (in the option of the video card). In addition, the  must be disabled at startup. (ESRV Service QUEENCREEK). Queencreek is used to manage energy consumption and causes many problems on the Cube Thinker. I tested this on my laptop!

     

    How do I diasble the ESRV Sevice QUEENCREEK? IS that the Intel (r) Energy Checker SDK task?

    Tried re-installing to Windows Pro for the fun of it. Nope, still starts flashing every so often. I give up.

    You can always update and see how it goes, roll back if you have issues. It seems an isolated issue with some laptops, yours should be okay.

    Yep still flickering after resuming from sleep (and sometimes during boot) with all the latest drivers in 1790, I’ve also got mouse touchpad driver issue with the latest builds of windows.

    The problem with mines.. as far as i was able to work out was the constant crashing of the latest intel drivers, so i rolled back to the one the machine shipped with, so far.. no graphic crashes, and now that i have installed the Surface, screen, digitiser and pen drivers. the display is correctly identified as a surface screen, instead of a generic pnp display, and the tracking seems better with the surface pen. as well as the pressure sensitivity. I really dont know what the issue is with the latest intel gen 7/615 drivers, but both the latest and previous versions caused this constant crash, i figured it out by looking at the logs using event viewer, and seen graphic driver crashed, driver restarted in a long list. It does make one wonder if cube have done something or added something to the drivers shipped so they remain stable.. if outdated. or is there a bios setting we should be tweaking. and since the distinct lack of documentation or support from cube, there isn’t as much as a updated bios or any driver files on there site regarding the thinker… its a nice machine at a decent price, but the lack of support makes me think next time around ill pay a little more for a better known and supported brand.

    Where did you find the Surface drivers. Did you roll back to the display drivers on this site?

    I’m on the latest pre-release build of Windows 10 and the latest Intel Driver. Flickering continues only when resume from sleep occurs. Putting back to sleep and on again seems to resolve the issue (annoying but I’ve already got a refund from Gearbest).

    Should definitely be a software issue, although many Surface owners have similar issues and are not getting any support from Microsoft (has the same screen as the Thinker).

    Another one bites the dust.

    Flickering and shacking seems to be a very common fault with the Thinker i35.

    Prashanth are you doing this to fix the flickering issue? I’ve tried it and it didn’t help one little bit. I’ve also go a pre-release build of Windows 10 and Intel driver running now and the issue persists. Fortunately its easily fixed by cycling back to sleep for a couple of seconds. Not a perfect solution, but I can deal with it until a driver fix becomes available.

    Hey Windows installed all my driver’s and I also ran Driver Booster to get a few updated versionm. You can also download Intel’s driver update utility for more up to date drivers.

    Well mine was fine before it updated to Creators Update. My thoughts are that it is a driver/windows issue because putting it to sleep again seems to fix it. I’ve already got a full refund on mine so I don’t mind waiting for future drivers/windows updates. If I were you I would return it.

    No I haven’t. I’ve installed latest Intel GPU Drivers and joined the Windows Insider program to get newer builds of windows but the issue persists.

    It mostly strikes when the laptop resumes from a sleep state. Cycling back to sleep and awake seems to resolve the issue until it goes to sleep again, although it can happen randomly as well.

    Let me know if you can find a solution.

    My bios did not see the SSD either, at least not as a bootable drive (because it has no boot partition on it yet). The drive should be already formatted. It appears as though your windows can see the SSD so that is good. You can go ahead and run a Windows 10 Bootable Media USB. It should detect the new drive and you will be able to install fresh Windows onto it.

    I would recommend deleting the boot and system reserved partition from the old Toshiba drive but it doesn’t really matter if you don’t.

    Works really well, read/write of 500/380. Around 5 times faster and 4 times more storage for $70. Windows did a good job of installing the drivers however the touchscreen is not responsive :(. I’ve emailed cube regarding getting a driver.

    Cube do have a 8.48GB windows 10 installation package listed on their site but it requires a 3rd party plugin and I think you have to be Chinese to get an account.

    I’ve just done a clean windows 10 install onto an SSD and the touchscreen is not working, so I need the driver.

    Should I contact cube for the driver or run the factory windows install. Trouble is it is all in Chinese and over 8GB and it wants me to install a 3rd party installer (all in Chinese) sigh.
