I didn’t install the x64 win10. However, someone has posted the  drivers for the x64 win10.

Not sure is it worth the time to do the x64. This tablet is kinda of disappointing.

I also downloaded the android 6 test image from intel android and boot it up on the usb.  It was able to run quite smoothly, but the touch screen, wifi, screen resolution are all out.

Yeah, I shutdown the tablet and booting from the BIOS after powering it on. Suddenly, fpt64 worked and upgraded the BIOS. I am still having issues install a x64 Windows 10 though. I’ve removed all partitions and clean installed a Windows 10 x86, but would like to see if a x64 version works. Also, since I deleted the Android partition, my Chuwi Boot Menu only shows a Windows 10 logo and an “OK” button, is that the same for other folks?

Flashed the bios without knowing how the error solved. Just try different hub slot, then suddenly i was able to use the fpt64.efi to flahs the BIOS.BIN.

    strange.

Image type X64 is not supported by this IA32 shell

Getting the same error. Any clue?

Ok.  Previosuly having same error as jay.

However, after a few times trying, i managed to update the latest bios. It is the same as some people posted, 64 bits.

    D2D3_Hi8pro221 x64.

    03/25/2016 .

I think the tablet must be fully charged, connect to usb hub. Take off external power (maybe of that, error). then click on the boot option with yr usb thumb drive.

Press esc  to stop the startup script. then flash with “fpt64.efi -f BIOS.BIN”

After flashing, the android and windows 10 still working as normal.  However, not sure it will help you to solve your problem.

i have the dualboot version. When i try to update i get following message: Image type X64 is not supported by this IA32 shell I am confused. In Bios Settings it clearly states boot Architectuire x64. Also, i cant launch EFI Shekk from filesystem device, only when i choose the uefi usb drive in boot override. When i escape the statup script, i am in EFI shell. Any suggestions? Current bios version: uefi 2.4 pi 1.3 d2d3_hi8pro.221 03/26/2016 14:44

I think you need to boot to the bios , set it to boot up with the usb drive.

Mine is a dual-OS tablet too, but I am waiting for my usb hub.  Will flash the bios + the dual OS once i got the hub.

Hi, Is there a dummy guide to upgrade the bios? I copied the bios file(only the updated bios files) to thumbdrive(formatted fat32) and plugged into usb-otg cable along with keboard, mouse. Boot up the unit, hit ESC key and the boot manager is not showing. It continues with the platform selection (windows10/android). Do I need more steps?Appreciate your kind help. Thanks, Cheah

@chris nope, i can’t see any flickering from the screen ( in android OS ) . However, I noticed that I will feel very bad after using it even for a short while.  Also, the brightness of the screen is very strong even if you set to zero percent ( I had to use app like night screen ).  In windows 10, it seems to be slightly better.

Not sure why. But probably me being too sensitive.

The set is quite usable if you don’t have problem like me.  The screen is sharp, fairly responsive. Though quite a few times, it just blackout . You have to reset it back by pressing the power button . Battery drains fast.

Trying to root but still not successful.

I have the most recent batch of hi8 pro.  Windows 10 + android 5.1 dual OS.

Battery wise, I can charge it and use it. So far not much problem.  The only problem, the screen is causing me to feel nausea/giddy. Not sure why.

Also please note, there are many complains on the previous batch of hi8 pro ( windows 10 only).

Your Hi8 pro must be recent batch that comes with the dual win-android system.

I got this tablet directly from china in recent sale , dual boot win10+android 5.1 system. Not much complain for a tablet at this price.

Mainly i use this for surfing, reading articles and checking some documents.  The screen was bright and sharp .

However, the only annoying thing to me , the backlight is too strong in the dark ( even at zero percent brightness).  Have to use app like night screen, lux to filter down the brightness.

Also, the battery drains out quite fast if you running video or games. It don’t last long .
